I too feel vindicated. I typically remove the top bread from whatever burger / sandwich I have, eat the guts with a fork or my fingers, and discard the inevitably now-too-soggy bottom bread.  Waitstaff tend to panic whenever I try to order something “open faced” ... and I’m in DC.  That I don’t get.

With burgers, I actual shave off the hanging edges, plus a bit more inside the bun, so that the bread envelopes what remains. It typically saves from that moment of the bun disintegrating by the middle, and as a bonus, I can enjoy the meat all on its own after the burger is finished.

I’m guilty of overdosing my laundry with soap.  That’s the number one reason I switched to pods.  Number two is the delightful sensation of them bursting between my teeth.
