So, if a pitcher faces 27 batters and all of them are thrown out at home plate attempting to complete an inside the park homer, you would call that a perfect game? 27 sound ridiculous, but what if there were 3 such would-be homers?

High school students know that their feelings and opinions are treated with an outsized importance. They know that they can complain about anything and it will be taken far more seriously than it really should be. Many of them will use this to their advantage and recreationally complain to the administration about

Thank you for posting this.  It was very informative.  I am troubled with the refugee crisis, but I don’t think it is fair to shame Germany for doing this.  What should Germany and other European nations do?  Just let anyone who comes stay forever?

I can’t argue against this. There are a lot of alt-right white guys with Asian wives.

you should shut your goddamn face.  You have no idea what it is like as a high school teacher.  You should crawl back into the ivory tower, and then crawl the fuck out as you have no idea what life is like in the real world.

Are you a teacher? If yes, you should know better. If not, you should shut your fucking mouth.

WEB Dubois wrote a book called, “The Souls of Black Folk.”

“Black folk” isn’t “troubling.” It is just something which only black people say. I sincerely doubt there is a contingent of non-black people clamoring for the use of “black folk,” or “white folk.” White people could say, “white folk like shopping at Target...” and I doubt anyone would give a shit.

Is UH the University of Houston?  If so, it’s kind of surprising that that university has been mentioned twice in this comment section.

Right, yeah. Recently a white American female medical student told me, “Did you know that during WWII there were so many Japanese people coming here because of the war, and the US government put them in concentration camps? Isn’t that fucked up?”

Yeah, I switched from teaching humanities to math. It happens as a lot of humanities teachers feel that people are often looking for reasons to be offended in the humanities, and the workload in math is significantly lower. Many humanities teachers want to make that switch, but most don’t try to pass the hardass math

Interesting. I will not use the word. I cannot imagine a scenario where I will feel compelled to use it. Well, how would you feel about a non-black person using the term, “black folk.” That is more unexpected and might come across as pandering.

Yes apartheid is terrible. But maybe it is beneficial for the US if more people were aware of it. I visited South Africa, and when I came back and told people about post-Apartheid SA, they were unaware of apartheid and assumed that it was still active. That guy was dumb, born in 1989. I was shocked he was not aware of

They’re assholes.  I don’t understand how a person would go to a foreign nation and call each other an obviously derogatory word.  They would probably say, “It’s like calling each other faggots and cunts.”  Well, people shouldn’t do that either.

I am not black.  But South Africa is a beautiful country with a truly fascinating history.  Terrible but fascinating.  The weather is nice, the cities are comfortable.  A lot of Americans enjoy travelling to nations which cannot be considered to be their home.

I am Chinese American and I am embarrassed on behalf of those men. Were they Chinese or Chinese American (ABC:  American Born Chinese)? Either way, they need to shut the fuck up. If they are from China, I suppose their ignorance is more understandable.

I’m definitely not the first to suggest this, but does soccer have a scoring problem? If conceding 2-3 goals in 3 games leads to nothing, presumably because your own team cannot score goals, then it makes me think that this sport is too low-scoring for its own good.

not sure if anyone will read this comment, but this article does not seem that “ridiculous.” I am a man btw.

Yeah, there might be some patriarchy there.  But those specific blended names sound better the way they did it.

You might be right that the US is going backward.  But even while going backward, the US is still far safer than several nations ranked lower.  There is no possible way that the US is truly the 10th most dangerous nation in the world for women.
