FWIW, my husband and I have a friend that works for approximately a month out of the summer loading and driving summer camp trunks to various camps up and down the east coast. He spends two weeks driving to the various houses/drop-off points, then dropping off the trunks, and then at the end of the sessions he'll do

Woo hoo, me three!

You'd actually be surprised at the amount of product and heat some women that cover use on their hair. I have a few friends/family members that have standing weekly hair appointments, but you would only know if you saw them sans scarf.

Totally off topic, but I just sent that link to my mother! She's been saying she wants some new scarves!

As some of the other Jezzies have said, it all depends. My mother wears very loose, lightweight scarves that she drapes over her head (think Benazir Bhutto), and deep conditioners regularly, so her hair is shiny and strong. I know some hijabis (Muslim women that cover their hair) that wear heavier scarves that deal

I'm no longer Muslim so I don't cover my hair, but from my experience growing up/talking with my mom/hearing from friends, some of the concerns mentioned are real ones. Split ends, flat hair, frizz, it all happens.

I have nothing to add, but just wanted to thank you for writing this.

Hog bung 4 lyfe.

Downtown entrances in Manhattan tend to be on the west side of the avenue, uptown train entrances on the east side.

There aren't a ton, but it's a start!!

Ooh, but depending where you are in Brooklyn, they have express buses that use the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. I know of some coworkers that take the bus in from as "far" as Bay Ridge and Mill Basin! Either way, I'd vote for you for city council!

I'm not sure if my suggestions will be all that helpful, but do you live close enough to work that you can take the bus (same borough/even an express bus)? My fiance deals with anxiety and he's always preferred (and does better) taking the bus over the subway, even if it means budgeting extra time into his commute. I

I do the same thing! I'm 70% deaf in one ear, so I sleep with that ear up but can still hear Mr. Catbus if he says something to me.

I'm a little late to the game and still somewhat of a newbie, but here we go:

I need this magic substance in my life now! While I was watching the video I was thinking of all the ways I could use it and all the things I could fix/improve! Thanks for this!

I'll second the "not bad" sentiment! Depending what area you choose, you may have a longer commute to Midtown or Downtown, but nothing too horrible. A good friend of mine lives in Kingsbridge (W. 231 St) right off the 1 train and it's really pleasant up there. Another friend lives near Westchester Square off the 6,

I present to you my collection of vintage silk neck scarves. There's about 100 in that pile (I need an organizer) and I've been collecting them for about 3.5 years now. I get them off of eBay, Etsy, wherever! My mom always finds great ones at the thrift stores near her. Most are Vera (Nussbaum) scarves, and I think

After over six months of being unemployed, I have a job!! They formally made me the offer two weeks ago, but it was contingent on a satisfactory background and references check. I got word Friday that I cleared the check and my start date is next Monday!!

First off: Congrats on finishing your first semester!! I remember what a mindf*ck 1L year can be, so give yourself a pat on the back!
