Nadine is a direct accomplice to Harold’s act. She spent her life knowing that she had a dark purpose and gave up both her womb and sanity to Flagg. I agree she's a tragic figure... But she wasn't innocent.

I think you can give a fuck and still be a straight white guy.
Some people take criticism of any media they are even just consuming as a personal affront. As if you are calling them an asshole for even looking at it.
I was gonna unequivocally say that you’re wrong about 1994 vs 2020, but I think there are some better actors here. I don’t think the effects count. Solely because of technology advancing. There are some characters we haven’t even seen yet. And some that you can’t guess at from the time you’ve seen them. The six hours…
If he doesn’t sing some faux hippy pop song directly in to the lens, he’s still ahead.
You and I are sitting in the same dinghy, kimothy.
I agree that he was implanted with the details of the plan under hypnosis, but that was part and parcel with convincing him to go. He was very dubious about it, even under hypnosis. It’s been a while since I’ve read the book, and it’s always possible that I’ve edited part of the story in my head. But I don’t think…
I’d argue Nadine isn’t set up at all to seem either good nor bad til she uses the planchette. Heard,s characterization is that Nadine is experiencing slight tummy issues and fugue.
I believe you may be the first person I’ve ever heard to make that decision. Still, the King ouvre has merits.
One thing I have to add, here. I thought that the show did the book one better by giving Tom agency in going West. The book has him hypnotized to go. Here, they asked him to do it, and he said yes.....Unless they somehow implied he was hypnotized and it didn’t come across.
Awesome point. One more hash mark in the “Shoulda been linear” column.
I think that’s great criticism and clever. However I’ve noticed that the only people who seem to be enjoying the show are people who’ve never been on the journey. Watchers who’ve never read the book, or seen the 90s mini series. Me, I recognize the parts of the story the script is going for, and everything…
I have nothing to add. Great analysis.
That was King’s cameo, eh? The bus shelter poster? I was hoping he’d pick Impening, or just some rube come to kneel at Mother’s feet.
That one, I’ll eat. I forgot which war for a second, not which German army. Thanks for setting me straight.
It’s not about her character, though, is it? An island of women bred solely for fighting. The quote doesn’t jibe with what we see on screen. Diana DOES present as being kindly, but not her community of women bred for WaAAaarrr. I didn’t see them canter up, extending a hand in friendship, when the Nazis showed up.…
Wonder Woman of the movies literally comes from a tribe of people who have been training for war for generations. That saying seems unlikely in the movie version.
Goddamn. I posted somewhere else that 2021 might be an upswing because of Ms Roberts’ un-death. But this just seems worse. I’m very sorry, Ms. Roberts. Be at rest.
Somehow Chibnall would fuck that up too. But I’d sure give it a try, and be excited about it.
Teen Wolf.
