So you wouldn’t, then, call someone a “dick”? No “assholes”? No one is “ballsy”?  I assume those have ever come up for you.  Yeesh, indeed.

It isn’t though.  Bastard, by the way, ain’t either.

Not a big fan of Deadwood I take it.

That was a table setting episode but fun. Good to see Hoover from the OTHER Rogan/Goldberg show. It’s clear Black Noir is going in an entirely different direction, and that’s too bad, but the show resembles the books in no way. A funny visual joke that Stormfront’s coffee truck smoothie is labelled “Storefront” They

And it’s how certain folks talk. The word “cunt” ain’t as edgy a word in several other countries, and doesn’t carry the same connotation. That particular string was egregious though. Butcher IS a lout, and a laddie. I’m impressed that they let him be that character. None of the rest of the books have anything to do

Those are high-minded questions, but if that’s what the show is going for, it’s not doing it very strongly. The five kids seem strangely stoic about everything. No one seems anything other than mildly surprised about Marcus and Sue being active loving parents so it doesn’t seem like kids in this universe are just

It’s right after Sue sees Father helping a stabbed Marcus home,  and Paul cries “MOM!” right at the end. (46:25 on my computer) The line is ADRed in, so it was put in on purpose. It’s something to note. I still lean toward it being a mistake, though.

Yet I wasn’t admonishing you.  I merely wonder what vicarious pleasure you get from reading about a show you aren’t watching.  Are you waiting to see whether it’s worth it to give it another shot?

Oh, I agree that you don’t have to know the tenets and specific dogma of a particular religion to make an offshoot. Look at that Mormon chucklehead. The thing that you do need to know, though, are the things that appeal to your flock of sheep about the religion. Rituals and hokum and the like. You also have to be a

How does Campion know enough about Mithraic religion to cause a schism?  As far as I read it, the Mithraics crashed on this planet less than two weeks ago.  Mother sure didn’t school him on a religion she’s been programmed to hate.  Who is he supposed to be praying to, in the first place?  How is Dad making a profit

It’s just that, up to this point, no one has mentioned anything about JC & Sky Daddy. (New ! This Fall!). Every other exclamtion has been on point.

Yeah, Father sure has been a punching bag for these 7 episodes. Nice payment for staying on-mission while his supposed partner is having holodeck sex.

I’m so used to hearing that as an exclamation, that I didn’t even notice.  If that DID happen, I wonder if it’s just something that slipped through, or some clue about their kooky Star Trek OS religion.

I don’t really understand the kids’ motivations at all. Campion is another story, but those five kids were stolen from their families by robots, and forced to eat radioactive soup for a time. Shouldn’t every one of them want to go back to their group? Tempest is conflicted, sure, but she wants to scrabble in the dirt

This episode answers the question of “What happened to the rest of the children?” Mother’s moral framework is pretty fluid. By the way, if she was going to try to stick to her original load out, why didn’t she take 11 kids?

I think Alex is asking why you’d comment on an episode you haven’t seen. Ostensibly you have no idea how Father has developed so don’t know whether he’s wearing a straw boater and singing Hello Dolly, or become an android monk living in a cave with a vow of silence. I ask out of curiosity, not as a jab. Do you read

First. Campion continues to need someone to spank him. Also, I haven’t looked it up yet, but his accent, which I assume the show is saying is mimicking Father, sure sounds tinny and false.... Ah. Aussie. Anyway, the character is a pill.

Man I wish I could argue against that.  But the show is just....tired, man.

I’m also happy.  She’s good and needs more stuff. But she sort of had to be promoted.

It’s certainly screaming that Joel is gonna cameo.  To immediately be killed?  That’s a good bet.  To be blown off because other shit is going on?  Also a good bet.
