I think outright abandonment is more appropriate than benign neglect.

I get that, but I wanted to see more character development than we got across 13 episodes. He didn't seem to have any more insight at the end than he did at the beginning. He didn't seem any more skilled than his adversaries. And he doesn't seem ready to join The Defenders. At this point he seems like he'd be a

Yeah, Luke Cage was chock full of social commentary.

I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt at first…. But, literally every other character in the show is smarter and wiser than he is…. Well, except, maybe, Lyle…. I found him harder to sympathize with than Jessica Jones, who is a self-admitted asshole and alcoholic. I found myself rooting for Davos.

It's the same for me, but, man, I don't think I could get through this three times in a row… By the end I sort of thought Danny Rand was an idiot….

I guess it's a bad thing when my last thought at the end of the show is, "Yes, it is your fault—you're a moron." … right?

I'm thinking they don't have much of a budget. None of these shows have looked like they had much money spent on them.

Or The Lion King/Hamlet.

Patience, Grasshopper….

Wait, what? You are about to watch the entire series for a third time??

I don't know that it's racist—that word seems to have morphed in meaning… but it does seem like that would be weirdly stereotypical. I mean, I thought it could work for just about anyone who was born and bred in the US…. but…. to assume that an "Asian" guy would have been a better fit because: Martial Arts… just

The contrast between Finn Jones and the other actors & stuntmen is pretty striking. He just isn't as graceful. He seems to pull his punches and kicks. If he just would extend and hold a fraction longer, it would make all the difference in the world. He looks like he is still in rehearsals, rather than going full out.

(unless you're Jackie Chan)

God, I hope so. It's hard to care when it feels like a bunch of poses strung together rather than an actual fight.

The series gets better; Danny Rand doesn't…..

Wow. Danny Rand is more incompetent than Jessica Jones.

And snarky as hell. I wanted to see more of him just walking down the street: step off the curb, throw that umbrella away, give me that iPhone, lose the bad wig…

He's sometimes called Power Man in the comics. He has super-strength—way more than Jessica Jones appears to have. Her powers have never been fully fleshed out, either in the comics or the netflix show.

It was the same thing for that chick that played Robin in Jessica Jones. Like no one told them this was supposed to be a realistic interpretation of the comic and not a campy comic book show.

Mike Colter wasn't horrible…. but they gave him lines that required a much better actor to pull off.
