This weekend, as last, it's Bravely Default for me. Basically everything I said last week after having played it for five or six hours holds true today after thirty hours. The story is still really thin on the ground. Every time Ringabel consults his book he's basically reading the script to see what the gang should

Haha, yeah, I'm always looking for ways in which the Big Finish stories might have influenced the revived series. See also: Zagreus' bombshell that life in the Universe was steered towards "humanoid" shapes by Rassilon at the beginning of time leading directly into the Amy/Eleven exchange "You're an alien? I'm not even close to Dark Eyes yet (by my calculations I've still got well over a year's worth of material to listen to,) but when I found out that Alex Macqueen was playing the Master in Dark Eyes 2 I gave some serious thought to jumping straight to the end. Julius Nicholson was always such a treat to have around,

Hello my darlings and welcome back to the Big Finish Doctor Who Audio Drama Retrospective. This week:

I get what you're saying, but an episode in which the Doctor helps Adam and Eve fight dinosaurs sounds insanely amazing.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the title "Let's Kill Hitler" was the inspiration behind the sensationalist season 7 title "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship." That episode wasn't a barn burner or anything, but it certainly delivered on its premise.

Can't stick around long, but I wanted to quickly start a thread about the ventilation escape sequence and its many, many shot for shot references to the same sequence in Aliens. It's an interesting place to go for inspiration for a Who episode. It'd be a no-brainer as a reference for any other sci-fi show, but these

LET THEM EAT CAKE

I thought Japanese Tommy Wisseau was going to be the best thing about this video, but then all the dancing girls came out at the very end and I completely lost it. A++++ video would watch again.

Good God man. Is that a cravat as well?

Oh, totally. I've only unlocked, a half dozen or so classes so far, but the job system is already treating me really well. There's a class based around money making where the characters wear a little Dickensian frock coat and top hat, and that is basically excellent.

Hayao Miyazaki. He's already retired from his field and in his 70's. I know that's not, like, old or anything, but we've lost people a lot younger. I honestly don't know what I'll do when it happens.

Like a few other folks here, I suspect, I'll be playing Bravely Default. I'm about eight and a half hours deep right now. Initial thoughts:

Awww, I missed you too there bud!

No bold in my comments either. The tags don't show up, but the text isn't bold. Weird.

Hey folks, and welcome back to the Big Finish Doctor Who Audio Drama Digest. Apologies for my absence last week, in case anybody's been paying attention, but this one needed that much more time to digest. We should probably get straight down to it in fact. This week:

If we're talking about literal titles, as in the names of games, I've got a few that I really like. Can't really speak for objective "greatness," but potential candidates I'd suggest would be:

WORD, man. Radiant Historia is my jam. I picked it up completely on a whim without having ever even heard of it, just because I had some throwing around money at the time and liked the boxart. One of the best impulse buys I ever made.

I would say it does. Fundamentally it's a relatively simple "multiple warring kingdoms" story, but it's spiced up really nicely with a sort of timeline-jumping gimmick. The conceit is that there are two parallel timelines that you can jump between, and decisions made in one can have ramifications on the other, so a

I was surprised Ryan's article about Scarlett didn't warrant more mentions by Soupy, since there were some really great comments in there and the article itself had tons of substance and potential angles. Some people just straight up talked about Starcraft specifically, or eSports generally, or the Boys club
