Might be the least attractive PHEV, from a company that laughs at any thought of EVs, with a center console resembling a CRT TV, and an interior that Joanna Gaines couldn’t fix with 4 freighters of Shiplap.

I don’t recall reliability issues, but I do recall the lies about its MPG, and Ford having to revise it.
I was thinking 90%, but you’re probably right.
Yes the hood scoop is atrocious crap.
BUT it appears to be a fully running, low-mileage vehicle with minimal issues for $2,500. Top that off with a hilarious eye-catcher that will start discussions anywhere, and perhaps even a little <real> utility.
I don’t think this is a surprise to anyone. Until automakers put Tesla-level of investment into battery infrastructure/production, prices aren’t going to drop.
Car has 180K. Yes, it’s an S2000 and very reliable, but 180K is not worth $12,500. Add in the hideous body kit.
This. Any time you massively lift a truck I’m pretty sure you’re an inconsiderate asshole. You’re completely changing your bumper height relative to everyone else, and already drive a heavier car. That means that when/if you get in an accident with someone, you’re much more likely to severely fuck them up.
Looks like a bigger Dodge Dart to me.
Weird, according to Consumer Reports, Tesla has the highest owner satisfaction.
Agree.. the “I like the way things are” is a total old-man style boomer take.
Why would you want to carry more shit in your pocket than you need?
I already carry only my phone and my car keys. My home locks are coded, my phone case can hold the minimum physical cards I need.. why do I want to carry more shit and…
It’s an option contract that hasn’t been executed.
It’s almost like they’re trying to adapt to get a newer generation of fans instead of following Harley’s footsteps of eventual irrelevance and multiple bankruptcies.
People catch this thing, it’s just cheaper for the company to not be liable to replace them.
“Batteries typically last 150,000 miles.”
“If Everyone owned..” let me stop you right there.
Electric cars are suddenly going to be everywhere. It’s a slow, gradual adoption for those who: can afford them, and for those who: it currently makes sense for.
There’s a lot of people that fall outside that realm. That said, those issues can be overcome in 15-30…
Whew boy, at first glance, this is a reasonable price for a 17-year old Jag with reasonable performance. Then you remember, it is a 17-year old Jag. Crack Pipe.
Or.. you could own a bunch “good” of cars with.. no payments!
It’s a terrible idea, that’s why.
Fine when you have one model with only one battery, but after a few years and your line expands.. you have to keep quantities of ~3? ~5? ~8? ~20? different batteries on site. When those batteries are tens of thousands of dollars a piece, it doesn’t make much fiscal sense in asset cost.

$2500 for a vehicle that will rust through before the engine quits? NP all day.
Parents have a 91 that they’ve had forever and I got to drive from 16-18. Responsibly, I got it up to 123 going downhill with a tailwind. They aren’t fast, but very reliable.
This seems like a bad take to me. If you’re gonna spend the money to rent that type of car, you’re not going to drive it around like a Nissan Altima.
