With the fuel draw it would be unlikely this would be more efficient than existing trains or planes.
Jeeeezus, on Ford’s commercial, look at the trim misalignment where that start button is. 1:56. How the hell do you let that in a commercial?
“Audi engineers tell the outlet they worked out that it is safe to unlock more of the battery pack’s capacity and increase it to 86.5"
An executive told engineers, who believed this usable capacity correct to protect the longevity of the battery, to go f themselves, increase the range so we don’t look as bad against Tes…
GM is really good at designing some of the ugliest cars.
Anyone looking at this Tahoe or Suburban think it looks good?
Yep, the 4.3 isn’t the most powerful engine, but damn will it last.
So grateful we no longer have to deal with vehicles like the Pinto, right? I wish we could go back to an era with no seatbelts or airbags, too! /s
The Subaru has a different engine than the standard model. Would make sense it needs to go through emissions testing, no? Same with crash testing. Has a different front end,…
“Will we need an electrical charger in each public parking spot in the future?” Well, uh, no, because the majority of electric charging will take place at home.
Why would anyone ever buy this over a Tesla P3?
Do you not see the F-150 spinning its tires and generating smoke? It is pretty clear this is not just the truck towing the F-150 uphill. It is towing it uphill against it trying to pull the Cybertruck. Showing off the torque differential.
An electric grill wouldn’t use that much electricity relative to the electricity required for propulsion. An electric stove uses around 3000 watts, assuming 2 burners are used, per hour. Given that the battery pack is estimated to be 100-150kwh, you’re talking about using about ~3% of your battery to spend an hour…
This is actually not bad looking, but man, that powertrain.
When you actually run the numbers it sounds like it will get thoroughly beat by the Model Y, but we’ll find out here in a quarter or two.
“or never.” /laughs Seriously, take a sprinter van, put batteries in a skateboard format with ~250mi of city range.. how will that not have tons of customers?
Gorgeous? I wouldn’t say it is ugly, but it looks awful fishy to me. Front looks like a Model 3 without the slope at the bottom.
For 155K, you can get an Acura NSX, which will do 0-60 in <3s. Or any other plethora of better options. CP all day.
“35.5-kWh lithium ion battery pack.”
Utilitarian, 120kwh battery with only 200 miles of range when not towing. What utility is that?
Isn’t that essentially what the crash test is? “I fell asleep and am driving straight into a wall.”
Yeah, that’s not true. If it has 250mi of range, they’re not going to add a range extender. Zero chance.
The range extender is not “no compromise.” In fact, it is quite the opposite. One of the advantages of an EV is much reduced maintenance versus ICE. Adding an entire ICE powertrain adds all kinds of extra things to…
