How does Share Play work with Destiny? Would the other person create a new character and play with you on your fireteam? Or would they control the character, and you'd just watch them play?

As someone who has never bought a Games on Demand, and has only bought 3 arcade titles that were deeply discounted, I am probably buying this (dependent on price). Loved GTA 4 and GTA V, people keep telling me San Andreas is good, and I've never played this.
