Lucky. I’m in the Midwest and distribution laws are so weird... we can’t get Cliff Lede in my state but if I drive an hour to cross the border into the next state, no problem. Getting out To Cali was a fun trip and a good way to taste and get on a few allocation programs.

I was referring more to “I can get this at a grocery store” (Yellow Tail, EJ) “I can get this at Costco or my local liquor” (Silver Oak and some Duckhorn) vs “I can only get this via membership or in select states” ... boutique stuff is great when you find something you like at a fair price.

In some aspects this is completely true. But I have tried same vintage, same vineyard, different producer in several wines and believe the winemaker/producer makes a big difference.
