this has to be AI, right? I just can’t fathom a human person being aware of the phrase “snuff film” but not what it means.
This insistence you guys have lately about how authorized biographies are terrific and unauthorized ones are sleazy crap is kind of bizarre. That is to say, you are not always wrong about either point, but just assuming an authorized biography will be better *because it’s authorized* is strange. Authorized…
“But if anything was ever going to deter a guy like Shore, it was probably an insult to his own person.”
Turns out doing a biopic of someone who is still alive and wants to be out of the spotlight is distaaa-stefulllllllll, buddd-dy.
I don’t think we’re getting another season. Max dropped all ten episodes like they were burning them off where season one was released weekly. I haven’t watched all of season two yet, but season one was a very weird show. I’m guessing season two was produced right after season one was finished. A lot of current…
I would agree with the basic premise of this, but while the show has been very good, I think it’s just not a high bar to be the best X-men adaptation of all time, because most of them leave a lot to be desired.
There was a weird resistance among some AV Club authors and commenters to the idea that whether a movie was a success depended on both its box office returns and its budget. So for weeks, we got a lot of grumpiness about a smaller movie might be considered a hit, because it did not lose its studio a fuckton of money.
Doesn’t he have a reputation for being aggressive and unpredictable?
Just got back from seeing Abigail a little bit ago. I feel like someone said, “M3gan was a huge hit! What other movies do we got in the pipeline that feature an antagonist who looks like a young girl but is actually a killer monster of some kind?”
This. If Zoolander 2 had to flop for him to make Severance and Escape at Dannemora then we’re all the better that it did.
I didn’t watch it until all the episodes had dropped, but also found that I could only watch one episode at a time anyway. I don’t think I could have binged it if I had wanted to.
I’m thinking more of an anthology approach would be appropriate to move forward with a second season, but that’s partly because I don’t know how they’d continue with the original cast.
Since they wrote the movie, they are entitled to a “created by” or “based on characters created by” writing credit that comes with a salary in every single use of the IP. Residuals aren’t necessarily overlapping, as I imagine they’re separately negotiated and not an entitlement.
Or at least a remake of the Bare Wench project
Residuals? Absolutely. A charitable arts grant? Sounds great. Creative input on all future sequels, merch, or brand rights? Ummmmmmm good luck with that one, guys.
Lionsgate’s excuse is that they didn’t give residuals because they thought all three died at the end of the first movie.
Just got back from Godzilla x Kong. If you’re in the mood for generic CGI blockbuster garbage, then have I got the movie for you!
I saw this yesterday and I must say... for all the people who are suuuper butt-hurt over the texas/california alliance it’s legitimately one line in the film and it never becomes relevant whatsoever nor do we learn anything about their allegiance. With the way people were talking about it I expected it to have more…
Seems like yet another movie where technology would torpedo the premise. There just aren’t the excuses for not being able to reach someone that there were in the 90s, especially someone you’ve entrusted with your kids.
