depends on availability, food deserts are still an issue in the US. there’s also the value of time. 1 hour spent cooking and cleaning up = 1 hour less with your kids or working. when the average person in the US works 50-60 hours a week time is a hot commodity. not saying people should eat junk food all the time but

I know my calculus, it says U + me = us :p

You reminded me of the Bill Bryson story.

That was something I liked about Ontario, they had 50+ license plate graphics from which to choose, including some phenomenal picks like Elmer the Safety Elephant (never seen one in the wild, but if I moved back it would be mine for sure).

I’m pretty sure that nowhere outside of Ohio teaches kids in school that Ohio is the “Birthplace of Aviation”. The rest of the educated world is quite aware that it’s North Carolina.

The wright brothers designed and built everything in Ohio but Kitty Hawk was the place selected for the first flights due to the wind. Once they proved flight was possible they started an Aviation company in Dayton, Ohio which is where the aviation industry pretty much started. I think that some people are offended by

You’re 100% correct. I grew up in the southwest, and this is the first I’ve heard of Ohio being the leaders of aviation. Everyone knows Kitty Hawk, no one would even consider Ohio, unless they were being contrarian.

They also seem to have just done a quick horizontal flip on the image, and now the perspective is all out of whack with regard to the banner as well.

Still the all time champ of license plate designs:

I know the Wright Brothers are from Ohio, but the Wright Flyer is pretty much synonymous with Kitty Hawk. I’m not sure if that’s nationally assumed, but it’s definitely the common understanding on the East Coast. It’s been on the North Carolina license plate since at least the early ‘80s. Of course now, depending on

ok, fine, you fixed the orientation of the Wright Flyer but there are many more issues.

Its weird that these designs seemed to be designed and picked by the governor and his wife rather than some committee. It reminds me of that terrible looking Camaro that is on some gas station’s POS. Every time I see I think the boss saw his 14 year old’s doodle on the side of his math homework and thought, “This

It must be so weird to be a teenager and do normal teen things like getting in and out of relationships or being unsure of who you’re compatible with, but to have it become international news. There’s a real aspect of voyeurism and living vicariously through celebrities I think we all subscribe too. Its just a little

Having played soccer as an 8-year-old boy, I can verify that I would have considered it a dumb comment and immediately ignored it.

Yes, so much yes. And I am glad you acknowledge how hard it can be not to mention the cuteness - my seven-year-old daughter is so beautiful that it hurts to look at her, but I don’t in any way want to reduce her to her appearance.

I think it’s an equally dumb thing to say to a boy in this context.

The same people also feel like they’re geniuses because everyone they talk to stares at them in awe. No, they’re just actual intelligent people who can’t believe someone that dumb made it this far in life.

If Kyrie catches COVID, I’m gonna laugh like hell. Also this.

He is such a deeply stupid person desperate to be seen as intelligent. Let this be the last we hear form him, because he isn’t a superstar player and the league will go on just fine without him.

He says he doesn’t want to give up the job/money/championship, and yet his choices and actions say otherwise.  The dissonance is strong with this one.
