I don’t think you become the focus of this much ill will because people are just jealous of your skills, though. You might pick up a couple of “haters” here and there, but to achieve near-universal disdain from your peers? It’s way more likely to be Ted’s personality than his classmates’ sour grapes.

Hahaha right? When I was a kid my (Catholic) parents once took me to a “pro-life protest” where people were literally shouting the words “you’re going to hell” at people.

This. I enjoyed Serial, but was really weirded out by the proliferation of annoying-ass internet sleuths. Whether you, I or any of these other yahoos think he did/didn’t do it isn't the point *at all*

I noticed that, too! It couldn’t possibly be that younger women weren’t interested in working for a nasty-ass dude with a pretty terrible reputation, it could only be woman-on-woman sabotage!

I’ve also heard it referred to as being on “LA time” (assume everyone will be 15 minutes late because traffic) or “California time” (everyone will be 15 minutes late because...I don’t really understand that one)

The simplified platform: War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength.

So you clearly had a specific outcome in mind when you pulled out that word (which means you understand proportional responses, but don’t care?) Are you also one of those people who doesn’t understand why you shouldn’t use the n-word?

I think you need to learn a little bit about proportional responses.

Take a minute to re-read my comment and let me know where I said anything about the jokes not being stolen (I’ll wait).

“Comic” is a matter of opinion (like I said, I get that it's a joke, but it's not a good one)

Exactly. Even if it was “just a joke,” it sure as hell wasn't a good joke, so how is that a distinction worth making?

I'm not sure that's what irony means.

Yeah probably, but is that any better? I mean, either she thinks joke stealing = rape, or she thinks that Cosby joke was funny enough to tweet (either way, she’s the worst)

I’m pretty sure he spent his deployment chauffeuring officers (which, if true, is a far cry from being in combat or a drone operator)

Oh my god, I’m flashing back to 8th grade “Health” at my tiny private Protestant school (Pam Stenzel made up the majority of the sex ed section, which was obviously...just great)

Ugh, but then his really sad family life would just turn into one of his borderline-police brutality storylines. Benson forever!

I’m envisioning table names taken from the bride & groom’s favorite episodes of This American Life.

Hmm. Necessity might be a loophole, but it’s still suspicious.

My friend’s mom once told us, “never trust a man who owns white sunglasses.” It sounds crazy, but it has proven to be true 100% of the time, in my experience.

And he didn’t even TRY to offer a plausible explanation for why he would have called in a plate number unless he was looking at the actual vehicle. That seems like a big one.
