Our standards are written by lobbyists; European standards are written by engineers.
That's insane! (But great news!)
Thanks! I knew about the differentiation depending on engine size but mixed up the numbers.

Is there any proof for the engine size/hp number? I haven't read anything about it. 400hp would be brutal in a car of this size. I can't really believe it but it would be a tremendous move offering it. *dreamsof400hphatchback*
Well, that's the reason why it's only $11,111!
Not just Audi had 2.8l engines, Mercedes (W140) and BMW (E38) had them as well. They produced around 193hp, so not far from 184hp the current 2.0l engines.
I'm not too sure about a 720i / S 200 for China. Their flagship sedans are still produced in Germany (and this is likely to stay so for a while due to image reasons). Thus they need to be imported anyway. Since import tariffs on cars from Germany/Europe are around 250% (as far as I can remember) the difference in…
Well, the 3l engines from previous models had 260-270 hp and trust me, they are no too slow. Sure, they will top out just above 155mph/250kmh but that's enough for most journeys.
Shouldn't it be the RS3 in this case? 370 hp sounds like the right amount of power to compete with the 45 AMGs.
The Jetta is the wagon/sedan of the equivalent generation Golf. The Jetta Sportwagen is technically a Golf Variant V. The current Jetta is based on the Golf VI and (in the US) only offered as sedan.
Poor Kimi, they made him answer the questions in really long sentences. I was expecting more of "Yes." "No." :D
I know that car prices aren't made by straight conversion of European prices, cars in Europe are always more expensive than in the US. I didn't make that clear enough in my first post, but what I wanted to show is that even comparing it to other cars, the R WRC was really expensive (see M135i and as you pointed out…
The Polo R WRC cost $38500 (28500€) BEFORE taxes. Please, tell me how many would have sold in the US? As much as I like small overpowered hatchbacks, this is ridiculous! That's as much as a brand new M135i. Small wonder they even sold 2500 of these. Sure, it's (more or less) a one-of-a-kind beast, but still...
Oh, got it, it's mixed up. :)

I didn't want to seem to be promoting, if you don't want suggestions here just tell me :)
Thanks for the all the different songs every morning! Where do you get your songs from? Do you just post songs you like or do you get suggestions from readers?
All pre-facelift 7 series were offered with a manual (except for the 750i), so you could get a V8 manual in the 735i and 740i. After the facelift though only the 728i was offered with a manual as standard, while in the 730i it was an option.
As far as I understood, there will be an even longer S Class that will then be called Pullman.
