Are you having to perform Sabarnes Oxley (SOX) testing for work? I am and it’s mind numbingly tedious and time consuming. My co-workers that have to perform some of our other SOX tests have repeatedly made me aware of just how shitty the ones I have to perform are.

Be up front with your tenants about why you're raising rents and if they're contesting your reasoning show them the extra cost of taxes. My family has raised rent before on tenants but taxes never jump so much that raising it $50 or less won't cover it.
