You should have seen SUV and truck prices in 2008 when gas jumped up to over $4.00/gallon. I was able to get a current generation Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer for under $10k.

Right, they’re paying way over sticker for the exact vehicles we just said GM is dragging their feet on. Are you saying GM is correct for not making a Wrangler/Bronco or Raptor competitor? Because that is completely wrong.
What crazy timing on this article. This van was owned by a friend of mine, who tragically passed away a few years ago. Just this morning I was wondering whatever happened to AlphaVan and here we are. He would take this van down to Baja every winter to adventure then back up to Colorado and Vancouver BC in the summers.…
I’m almost certain the Venn diagram for 911 shoppers and Escalade V shoppers is two separate circles.
I agree. My wife drives an Explorer ST because it is quick and fits the family of 4 for our trips. If they didnt make something like that we would be stuck with a boring SUV since a proper fast car would not be practical.
This is the best one so far... lower is better. It’s not like this thing is ever going off-roading.
I really wanted a 4x4 E-350 (8 or 9 passenger version rather than camper) for my “adventure vehicle” but good luck finding one on a budget. Went with a well-used Suburban instead for less than a third of the money and not sorry with my choice. These are really cool vehicles, though.
Sometimes I love being fast with photoshop...
Hopefully it goes for a reasonable price...
I just wish I knew why it needs to look like it’s standing on its tip toes. This vehicle just looks about 4 inches too high. It’s so awkwardly proportioned. There’s almost as much space between the top of the tire and the top of the fender as there is from the top of the tire to the bottom of the tire.
The General’s management must be hugely out of touch with what people want. It took them ages to go mid-engine with the ‘vette but when the C8 came out, they sold like hot cakes. The Blazer could have been a money-printing Jeep rival like the Bronco but GM played it safe with a C1XX based CUV.
Seriously, they are only 15 years or so late to this game.
*Buys a $110k SUV*
The only surprise is that it took them this long to do it.
I hit almost 60mph in reverse in a Panther-platform Lincoln Town Car once before my instinct for self preservation kicked in. I had a few more RPM left before the rev limiter, I probably could have gone faster but lost my nerve.
My wife had a 2002 Jetta and when the transmission went it would not go into reverse, so I’d imagine the opposite can be true. She had to be careful to never get into a situation where she had to back up for about a month until we found a fix (replacement used transmission).
either that or the damage is causing his rear wheels to get caught on the body when going forward.
Pimp sauce, not pepper sauce. I plan on working “pimp sauce” into at least one conversation today.
1. I am impressed that is some decent driving in reverse at speed. Lane changes, stop lights, an exit ... all of that. Honestly I have seen people drive WAY worse in forward directions
