It turns out, you don’t even need a gaggle of coughing, sneezing passengers to get your crew sick from COVID-19.

Dammit, Americans want their endless buffets and open bars and they want it all on a gigantic boat!

If you have watched The Fifth Element, you would know that cruising is as much a part of our future as personal hoverboards.

“Trust the customers”

All the lightnings come with the crew cab because the battery is under the cab floor in between the frame rails.  There wouldn’t be space for the battery in a shorter cab version.

Doesn’t it seem like Ford must be making a lot less profit on this model than other EVs? I’d guess the F150 Lightning ($40K base, 4WD, 230miles range) must have a significantly larger battery than then Mach-E ($45K base, 4wD, 211 miles range).

I am so excited for this. To put my money where my mouth is, we put our $100 reservation in this weekend for a spot in line. I am double excited that it can theoretically act as a battery for our home. It is more economical to just buy this truck and park it in my yard than getting Tesla Powerwalls for our house. The

There’s a lot of concern over this fleet vs retail argument. As someone who has purchased several new, fleet-only Ford products (and I’m def not a fleet), it isn’t hard to find a dealership willing to make a fleet of one. If you’ve got the money, they’ve got the time.

What are those estimates based on though? My point is you can’t just blanket say 50% reduction because that’s what EV’s do, because the less efficient the vehicle, the smaller hit it takes for the same load. If you take a a Prius and an F-150 and ask them to tow the same trailer, its going to take broadly speaking

I suspect even if Ford intends these to only be sold to fleets, some will still find their way to private buyers. I believe there are dealers that will sell you police-spec Explorers against Ford’s wishes, as they’re big enough to more or less do as they please. I can’t imagine a black-bumper fleet truck is more

Whichever automaker figures out they can charge extra to put physical HVAC controls back in vehicles as options is going to make a mint. I would legit pay a couple hundred bucks for the knobs as shown here if a screen only version was standard.

Yes, the base model F-150 Lightening will be sold to retail customers along with fleets.

This is promising. I was waiting to see how “base” the base model got, and frankly this looks like everything I would have wanted anyway. I have a reservation for the

Lightning (great price, ok looks, ok specs) and
Cybertruck (great price, terrible looks, great specs), but not the
Rivian (ok price, great looks, good

They’re also quite good at alerting you to when you’re approaching overhead clearance limitations. Like in parking garages.

They care about range, not sound quality. Hence AM broadcast.

Another benefit to an old-school antenna on a truck is it gives you a sacrificial, non-painted low-clearance indicator.  In the case of a parking garage or drive through, if the antenna doesn’t hit anything you’re good to go.

To give you an example, living in the heart of the Midwest in Iowa the radio station that reigns supreme is 1040 WHO. Not for cooky reasons like the ones that previous comments suggest. No, its because of The Big Show. A show dedicated to ag-related talk in the middle of the day that features latest trends, prices,

Ive done a hell of a lot of really long road trips in a lot of different vehicles, and the sharfkin antennas annoy the everloving fuck out of me. Especially driving through the south. Finding a good non country radio station is hard enough as it is, but having to do it twice as often because of a dinky antenna is

Is there anything wrong with it?

i think their preorders are already higher than what they project to make the first year.  even if the preorders arent real and its just getting in line to have a dealer bug the shit outta you until launch.  i was gonna put up the 100 to get in line but they better pay me a hundred a week to have a dealer calling me
