Neutral: rental companies actually can make money. Apps and hailing companies are jsut vaporware burning through VC money by the billions in the hopes that they will put everyone else out of business and make their money via monopoly on the back end.

It’s easier to grasp if you look at smaller numbers.

That’s not even the implementation I was assuming I was going to read...

They’re well aware that no one wants this. It makes them money.

Those things you’ve listed brought to society far more than just convenience, though.

And if there’s a cone along the route, the Waymo isn’t going to get me there, either, apparently. At least not yet.

The Waymo response is so generic yet specific enough that it reads like it was generated by a level 2 autonomous Official Statement generator.

What these automated systems need is some sort of set path, through a major thoroughfare, where they don’t have to deal with other drivers, or really, any unexpected things-

While I don’t condone any of this, EVERYONE in Chicago treats driving like it’s a demolition derby. RIP my Taurus SHO and Mustang.

This whole week of gasoline shortage-related news has been a roller coaster* of a ride.

Hopefully soon people won’t feel inclined to roll around with gasoline stockpiles in their cars and get into fights in fuel lines.”

Yeah, I was going to suggest that continuing to wear a mask isn’t a bad thing for allergy sufferers. It won’t make it all better but I have to think you’d see improvement.

Neutral: I’ve noticed people with allergies have flatly said “Try to take my mask and I’ll fucking stab you.”

But when the car drives itself autonomously you’ll have plenty of time to look at the ads...

I for see a lot of screen malfunctions if this happens.

This is good. A tail that wags the dog is bad. I hope that this would work with doubles and triples, but I can’t see that being very safe. Could you imagine a 100’ long 90000lb set of triple snaking itself across the 80 in a snowstorm. Sets in snow are horrible. My drivers described how they could see their rear

Eh, if they took 5 grand off the price, you know you would take the deal.

One note though... those trailers have air brakes. And the way they work is you need air pressure in the system to release the brakes. If the air lines detach, then the brakes go into maximum braking braking mode. As long as the trailer has decently maintained brakes, the trailer should come to a stop.

I already have in-car ad.

I’d never buy a new car again if this became an industry-wide thing. Fuck that. I’m sick of being advertised to every time I turn my fucking head.
