It’s too small for that duty. This is just a concept, but it’s more likely to be a small cargo van than a passenger van.

and smaller than nearly every other van on sale in the U.S.”

That interior tells you this thing is very close to production.

[Psst! You forgot to tell him to quit with the slide shows.]

Horrible title. I do not want any van made by MB unless it’s the size of a Sprinter and can be made into an executive limo. So, basically, I only want a MB Sprinter executive limo.

I think that will come. Eventually. But they’re not super aerodynamic, so it’s probably going to take more like a 200kwh pack to get meaningful range. And even then, it’ll be pretty hard to make them viable road-trip mobiles. Because it’ll take a long time to recharge a 200kwh battery and if it only gets you maybe 300

Any vehicle made after 1985 shouldn’t be on this list. Sure today’s cars can have a lot of problems that cost an insane amount of money to fix. But the reported problems are a different league than “the master cylinder is made of plastic and fell off the firewall” or “I put it in gear, heard a clunk and the entire

Yeah, I really want an electric camper van, but 126 miles means you’re probably staying local.

This is a great deal for the local service companies, assuming they all charge in the same place every night. It seems like a no-brainer, honestly.

i mean it’s probably not a bad idea to reduce your current financial exposure... tight now we’re definitely in a bubble.. the real question is “when will it pop?”

Not with that attitude it’s not.

I thought the purpose of timeshares was so you could attend a 2-hour presentation in exchange for some sweet, sweet free Disney tickets?

67 kWh is actually pretty big. For reference a 1700 sqft New England home uses about 10 to 25 kWh per day depending on the weather for everything but heat. Of course you’re not driving a house, but if you’re doing proper camper van things with the camper van, you could arrive at your destination and maybe have a small

When I worked in lending you would be surprised at the number of people who didn’t understand this- as well I had to tell them that timeshares were liabilities not assets

An army of fixie riding hipsters brings it in from Nebraska.

I think current battery technology is a dead end. I am a big fan of EVs, but I won’t buy one without either solid state batteries or some similar technology that lowers cost and increases safety. It’s not like there are lots of EV battery fires (there aren’t), but the ease at which an unprotected lithium battery cell

Just a few corrections for you:

Yet another area where the old school car companies are trying to catch up to Tesla. Roof rails. Ha! Amateurs. Come back when you can finally have your whole roof detach.

Agreed. The Rivian sure looks neat, but with that bed it’s much more of a lifestyle accessory than a working vehicle. I get that most trucks don’t work, but they need to at least be capable of work. Specifically, they need to come with a bed that’s long enough to be actually useful. The F-150 may be incredibly stupid

I’ll just leave this right here: I like the Rivian, but it’s barely a pickup in the same way that a Honda Ridgeline is barely a pickup. And none of the others rate as a pickup truck either, with the possible exception of the Bollinger.
