While shopping for 1.0's, the lacking options were disappointing. Basically, dealers assume the only reason for an M/T is to save $.

Yeah it sounds way better than the 4's, aside from the FoST.
Gotcha. That’s a lot to owe on a car with that many miles :0
Correct on which cars got it. Except the 1.0 auto got the regular 6F15 automatic.
1) 2014s are worth way more than $1,500
Any chance you’ve ever bought a box of blades for a portable band saw? That’s why a CVT belt looks like. It’s a bunch of thin steel band stacked together, to provide the tensile strength. For compressive strength, they line the entire band assembly with perpendicular steel plates, shaped kinda like shark teeth. The…
Even Nissan has gone away from the toroidal CVT and uses a belt now, at least in 4-cyl models. I haven’t looked up the V6s.
All non-hybrid CVTs use a belt.
The problem with CVTs is the spread (ratio delta between lowest and highest) is less than a regular automatic. Toyota has gotten around this by adding a hi/lo gear to their new CVT, which already has a torque converter for launch/creep. So if you start adding torque converters and planetary gears to your CVT, why not…
10-Speed Mustang GT has no rubber band sensation. Shifts are pretty snappy, and it seems to always be in the right gear.
I had a 2017 Ram V6 with the 8 speed, immediately after the Pacifica with the 9. The Ram was great. It actually made the little motor a decent powerplant. The 9 speed in the Pacifica? It was the most indecisive POS I’ve ever driven. Most driving was “9th gear can’t hold speed on flat ground DOWNSHIFT TO 5TH…
Honestly the F350 is a better investment. Johny’s liberal arts degree (or psych or anthropology or any other “fun” program) isn’t going to get him a job any better than a barista. And if dad goes and has his fun, Johnny will have to take on an apprenticeship with the local Electrician, Pipefitter, or IronWorker union,…
That’s what I’m getting at. Ford offers many “fleet” configurations, and most Ford dealers are “fleet” approved. There’s no restriction who can purchase cars through their fleet sales. I’m actually better than way. Check your options, they see if there’s any in stock at the lot or in the network, and if not, you enter…
Yeah, but also the short wheelbase might not fit the DEF tank and/or the PDF filter.
Try the Michelin X-ICE! They are LRR as well, but are great on snow and also standing water. The milage hit on our Fiesta 1.0 was really not measurable compared to the stock LRR tires.
My local dealer currently has 48 XL and XLT F150s in-stock. No fleet requirement.
XLT is hardly a fleet-only trim. How did we get to the point where you’re considered a peasant if you don’t have leather heated and cooled seats with a panoramic moonroof and small robot in the dash to steer your boat down the ramp?
Its does look rather FiST-ey.
Fuel filler is there.
The new system that debuted on the GLA has touch screen capability. But super limited, and its doesn’t support gestures like Sync. Basically lets you push buttons, but functionally not really any better than the dumb little curser wheel in the center stack.
