Wait, catholic schools all have uniforms. No one is going to wear a skort or a plaid skirt on their own. If the school decides the uniform, how can the girl be at fault for wearing it?

Maybe you should think about why people believe that a woman who shows skin looks like a floozy.

And how certain body types, no matter how much they cover, are just viewed as sexy anyway.

As a man, this crap is always so insulting to me. They wanna control how women present themselves because men can’t control themselves. I don’t understand why more men aren’t insulted by that kind of garbage. Like we have no say in our urges whatsoever. I have full control of my urges, and I did then. I’m sick of

If I showed up to a first date showing tons of skin, that would set a very bad tone for the date.

I think we need to approach a world where “respecting yourself” means dressing in the way that is appropriate to the situation, not to how much skin you’re showing. It’s one thing to show up to an interview in clothes that don’t represent you’re a professional, but if it’s hot and you’re walking around outside, your

I hate to break it to you, but it’s not just the religious zealots. I live in a coastal suburb of Los Angeles that is usually at least partially progressive. Whenever two or more moms from my kids’ middle and high schools are gathered, the topic turns to how slutty the girls dress. These aren’t baby boomers, they’re

Heaven. I could actually go to a crowded area without being dry humped.

Gee, I wonder what that right hand is doing...

I did not know there was a third hole for a tampon until i was 17 and i literally found it on accident, because it was inappropriate to discuss how a woman’s body worked. i couldn’t figure out how to use one properly and fully was just laying it in there like a hot dog in a bun...

A Catholic school making women feel guilty, shocking.

Absolutely! I also say we put curfews on men and boys. They shouldn’t be out after dark, only women and girls can be, otherwise they will face fines and jail time. Can you imagine what that would be like?

Back in my day, “modesty ponchos” were just called condoms.

Agree. I am responsible for controlling my urge to drink mass quantities of wine, to watch my diet by not eating a gallon of ice cream for dinner, to not tell my boss to fuck off because and a million other things. So, if I can do all this, these little fuckers can learn too.  Damnit.

Also this.........

This will probably stay grey, but Fuck the Church. Also, Fuck the “Cool Pope.”

noooo, stop. that’s the new testament. that’s the part where jesus said some relatively sane shit about not being a dickbag. christians don’t like that part, they like the old one where they get to stone women for being whores and hate crime the gays.

This is my argument as well. If men can’t “control themselves”. Not only in terms of sexual harassment and abuse of women, but in terms of generalized violence (they commit 90% of violent crimes), then why should they be given power and control? They obviously can’t be trusted to conduct themselves properly.

Here’s a mock up the original plans for the “modesty poncho”

If boys and men are that powerless to their urges, then they shouldn't be allowed in public, including school. After all, if a hemline puts them on a direct path to Satan, they're not going to learn anything in school anyway. Quarantine them until they stop sexualizing people.

Hey, Christian schools, want to avoid this kind of controversy? Instead of rambling on about how long a girl’s hemline has to be before it doesn’t make Jesus cry, why not preach to the boys about what the good Lord told them to do in these situations?
