Well this is a whale of a story! Dolphins boning whales, how old school.
You know what? I would be completely ok with that. Cut the diseased (red states) off and let them fend for themselves. Let’s see how well they do after the blue states’ teats that they have been sucking off of is removed from their welfare state mouths.
Dutch guy here, yup our crime rates are pretty low even though we have our fair share of immigrants/refugees. Goldberg insinuates that we actually have high crime rates, but that those are suppressed by the press (which they aren't). Mostly our low crime rates stem from evil socialist stuff like providing affordable…
A Bryan Goldberg machine is a device designed to perform a simple task incorrectly.

That’s fair. I read into your tone more than I ought to have and presumed that you meant it’s funny to follow her because she’s so try hard. I get a little defensive of Madonna because I feel like she a lot of the shit she gets comes down to her not gracefully disappearing as an older woman should.
When it leads to your impeachment.
People can be so tactless in times like this. When my parents died last summer (murder-suicide by my dad), people had the gall to tell me “They just loved each other so much. They went together.” It took everything in me not to say “Did you read the police report, do you know how hard my mother fought to stay here?…
Uh, no, both cannot “apply fine.” “Female” is an adjective, not a noun. You can say, “We are all led by female humans now,” and that would be fine. If you were to just say, “I know a female,” that wouldn’t mean anything. Female what? Female dog? Female cat? Female ostrich? Adjectives modify the noun, this is basic…

You make many points. This, though:
To me, this story, and the way it lays out the female experience of being considered undateable in our culture, points up something invaluable: That the feelings of rejection, anger, despair, even rage, are really similar between men and women. What’s different, of course, is how the protagonists choose to deal with…
This is good and important work.
This is the end result of one of the greatest mind control experiments ever perpetrated on humanity. If you think these people are going gently back under the rocks from which they came after Trump resigns or is ousted in 2020 think again. The combination of fear, stupidity and cowardice will lead to militance on…

I agree. But Comey was not the one who leaked the letter to the press. Chaffetz did. Chaffetz also mischaracterized the Comey letter, making it look way worse than it was. Arguably, Comey’s mistake was in thinking he could write a letter to the intelligence committee and expect the republicans on it to maintain the…
Jinni: many thanks for your active role in the community. I, for one, recognize your time, help and efforts on behalf of others. Thank you for making Jez and The Slot a better, nicer place. Cheers
The ramifications are staggering - even still I’m finding things about myself that I can now recognize as “Ah, that’s because of XYZ from my abusive past”. And it’s less of an issue these days because I can better cope with it - but it’s just so pervasive.
So well written. This reminded me a lot of my childhood and life - the knowing that I wasn’t really a man because men can’t be raped. The shame and depression. For me it was years long sexual abuse from my step father and there are multiple times in my life where the fallout from those years nearly destroyed my life…
