You can’t put any of this on the same level as Space Pants

They should ban all non-comedic songs from SNL. Or maybe just all songs in general.

I’m a fan of Cecily Strong, but it really does seem like some part of her comedic talent broke when Trump was elected and then broke again when the #MeToo scandals hit, because she hasn’t been the same since.

And the cool host tried her hardest! These grades are just off the wall. It’s as if humor plays no part in this show’s quality. It’s more about how the material treats social issues, and how those decisions are either right or wrong. Never forget, objective number one for this show should always be to get laughs, and

THANK YOU. Yes Matt Lauer sucks, but let’s not forget how uniformly terrrrrrible Ann Curry was (and probably still is).

“little thought has been given to the Apu character beyond the accent, that Apu is his ethnicity (and a blatantly distorted one at that) and that’s it.”

I thought the monologue was funny. I really don’t have anything intelligent to say about it beyond that (my brain is struggling to think of things to say at this hour) but I just wanted it out there that at least someone enjoyed the monologue.

I mean - I don’t think it’s unreasonable to acknowledge that certain franchise properties carry the weight of certain kinds of expectation surrounding them. For comparison, when Star Wars movies come out - the fan chorus of naysaying and fanboying swell operatically, even before the broad ubiquity of social media.

I think I could watch an hour of Larry performing in court, but does such an urge make me no better than the beasts?

I always preferred the Shatner novels’ spin on things, where if I recall the point of divergence was actually in the events of First Contact.

My guess is they either wipe themselves from history or were actually in the Mirror Universe. Which would explain why the tech is so better than TOS. As of The Tholian Web they had a 100 year headstart.

Everything about the spore drive and the portrayal of the Klingons, from their ships to their look, is just terrible. This show is taxing to watch as a Star Trek fan. It sure feels like the people who are making it really, really hate Star Trek and its philosophy.

Yeah, I’ve said this before, but between Macfarlane’s presence and the initial marketing, people can’t seem to wrap their head around a.) what this show actually is and b.) what it is they *think* the show should be.

To me: it’s a light AF Star Trek show, with a dash of humor and earnestness that just so happens to

That stuff was painful to watch, but it evens out and becomes a really good episode. Guys, at least try not to get yourselves killed!

I liked The Orville better.

Con Man is a weird animal. At times it's absolutely brilliant. Second episode of this new season is among the best stuff I saw all year, while the other three are.. mostly ok, at times bordering on boring. Some of the stuff there is tonedeaf and smug.
