The insertion feels like a pap smear basically. It’s not too bad. The cramping afterwards is pretty real (take the day off and get someone to drive you home), but for some reason I was less scared of that than the actual procedure.

I’ve had the Paragard for 3 years. The pain and bleeding is NO joke, and it’s as bad now as it was right after I got it.
