Yes. But if you are going to lean on eggs as a protein source then you have to own up to the horrible treatment of egg laying hens. The same goes for poultry. Chicken is about the cruelest thing you can eat.

Raising crops is much more energy efficient and by extension less polluting than raising cattle/pigs/sheep etc. By like a factor of 10:1 in most cases. I am a meat eater, but I don’t act like it’s not worse for the environment than raising crops.
