Its seems like Lazy Logic to say this EV competes with that EV because size wise they are similar. I think many people still compare an ICE to an EV (IE I have a Suburban or Minivan, and no EV equivalent... I’ll stick with my ICE).

A Panamera and Taycan are wildly different in size even if they have similar price

Agreed. Tesla is probably one of the most hated manufacturers here, and they even made the switch in 2015. Mercedes made the switch in 2016. Why did Lexus wait until 2018? Even if some model cars were not refreshed, swapping a simple modem card should not have to wait for a product refresh. Obviously Mercedes was able

Oh yes it is!

MAYBE a Truck, and no one suggested a Truck for hauling car parts...

It pretty much screams Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Last Gen for aftermarket support and lift. Something like this: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/1156e805-c770-4818-8216-9bf4662c6e75

Chevy/Geo Prizm (aka GM’s Corolla produced at NUMMI, now the Tesla Freemont Factory)

It seems obvious, but your only real EV choice with AWD under $5k MSRP is the Toyota bZ4X XLE AWD at $44,080. Assume no tax benefit, its still under $45k and because of the stop-sale order on the recall, probably some sitting on dealer lots they will see as soon as the order lifts.

I also like cars that have dedicated, if not eccentric, communities.”

That is clearly the Porsche community! At this price point, a nice 997 Cabriolet 4S would be clutch. Since this person likes to drive, finding one with higher miles is not a bad deal. A 2006+ has the improved IMS Bearing, but most 997 have been

Did anyone expect the F150 Lightning to still remain $39k? Clearly they have a product they can’t build enough to meet the demand for the people that want it. How long that lasts, who knows. But raising the price to allow smaller entrants like the Maverick EV ($30k?) and Ranger EV ($45k) so a F150 EV ($60k) to slide

If VW can bring this in LWB (3 row, more batteries, Dual Motor with 0-60 in the mid 6-7 range, and get 300 miles EPA rated) they have a very competitive product. If they can undercut the 3-row EV SUV/CUVs like the Model Y, Kia EV9, etc then they have a compelling product.

I also think VW should not sleep on a Buzz Komb

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Stellantis will have a hard time until they adopt the future while still having plenty of competitive products to sell in the present. No Stellantis US Brand Dealership has a complete model lineup akin to a Toyota/Lexus, Ford/Lincoln, VW/Audi, etc. And that includes Ram.

Ram blew this one. Ford does well on the F150, F250, and F350 range already. Ford used the Global Ranger to bring the US Ranger to market. Same with the Global Transit. Now they added the Maverick.

Unpopular Opinion: I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Stellantis will have a hard time (and so will their dealers) until they adopt the future while still having plenty of competitive products to sell in the showrooms in the present. No Stellantis US Brand Dealership has a complete model lineup akin to a

Mitsubishi Mirage. New for $15k sounds enticing. But if you love yourself and family, buy a used $15k car.

The 97-99 Maxima SE w/ Leather was a sleeper. The 02-03 Infinity I35 was as well. Even J30 Maximas from 89-94 were ballsier then the V20 Camry’s, and even the 91 V30 Camry (although the V30 Camry was much more refined).

Ford Edsel.

Are they going to call it Speed?

That headline about Rivian seems bias, no? Would it be prudent for any start up with the current headwinds of economic uncertainty not try and tighten its belt to weather the storm. JP Morgan’s Jamie Dimon also reiterated something similar. Don’t rely on another capital raise in a down round evaluation when you can

It is supposed to be the EV take on a Land/Range Rover.  At its price point, does it compete?

Time to find a donor C63 and get to building: https://www.thedrive.com/new-cars/40257/building-a-mercedes-190e-evo-on-a-modern-amg-c63-chassis-took-8-years-and-more-money-than-god

PS I had a w201 93 190E 2.6 that I wanted to upgrade to the 3.0l-24v with a 2.3-16v 5-speed getrag tranny to have my own sleeper w201. I

Thanks Steve. Curiosity bit me. Search FB Marketplace. Came across this super clean Ford Ranger for $1,000: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/576934457397773/

Now I’m getting a Geico quote. FML.
