Hate to break it to you, but capitalism doesn’t fear anti-capitalist messages, it monetizes them. Anti-capitalism is a brand.

Disagree on the need for the show to dig into power dynamics of Rebecca dating Sam. The power dynamics in pro sports are completely than in other workplace circumstances. There’s not a clearly more/less powerful party, because players’ skills are in such high demand. In fact, players sign contracts guaranteeing their…
The write-ups have conditioned me to flinch whenever I read the words “Dubai Air.”
Myles, I wish you could get out of your own head. You’re so painfully overthinking this show. And you know it. It’s a journey you have to take for yourself.
Destiny is a good example. He makes 10k a month off twitch according to this leak. He currently pays his Editor of his YouTube channel 40% of the revenue generated from it which is on average 10-15k a month. I’ve heard of streamers getting paid sponsorship deals that pay 10-20k an hour. People just don’t understand…
You seem to be the most rational person here.
This should be the top comment. Many streamers are making most of their money off of Twitch, whether via direct donations, patreon, Onlyfans, or sponsorships. Obviously sponsor-unfriendly “hot tub” content wouldn’t make much money from ads via Twitch.
These figures are missing a lot of information. A bunch of different revenue streams are missing from my understanding. Not to mention “hot tub streamers” drive traffic off Twitch’s platform and generate the majority of their revenue from other platforms like Onlyfans.
how many “eat the rich” streamers make a ton more than the average american household? just curious....
I have officially given up. Sorry, but whether it is a person or a website, I want to feel a baseline of respect and G/O media just doesn’t care about its community. Aside from it being hugely inconvenient, if they don’t care about us why should we care about them? (and the communities across the G/O sites very much…
How much does this social media thing cost
This was probably my favorite darker What If episode so far and actually managed to make MCU!Ultron work for me. I think while the Avengers 2 Ultron was kind of bland, his approach does manage to make him a suitable Multiverse level threat. The motivation required is there.
my impression of the comment you’re alluding to is that SNL chooses to primarily portray bufoonish, unearned confidence types with their white male characters...which is and always has been the easiest way to get a laugh.
Carrie Coon for The Leftovers is probably the one that bothers me the most.
Also honest question, why is this an AVClub review and not on Kotaku? I can see both reviewing it but why does the AVClub get “the scoop” or what not here.
I liked it. Arguably darker than Fury’s week but still light enough somehow that it was just a bit of fun with a What If concept.
I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that people decide to be passive aggressive in the most cloying ways possible for such mundane reasons. My brain can’t fully comprehend!
Maybe developers can flag a specific achievement with Steam, that shows a player has smashed the game and bars refunds if it has been earned. It would need to be clearly shown to the player in advance though, not hidden away. Not ideal, but perhaps would help in some cases.
Jesus christ, if you like the game, fucking pay for it. I’d apply this to music as well. If you enjoy it, support it. Art has value.
“Personally, I’ve chosen to remain subbed, but I also think boycotting is a valid response,” they told Kotaku over email. “A combination of both sides working together is what’s going to grab the leaderships’ and shareholders’ attention.”
