Eh, he only bled a little, the tranq dart was temporary, and I doubt Hannibal will suffer much PTSD; he's beyond that sort of thing.

Oh my Zod. I watched "A Royal Affair" *after* starting "Hannibal". He was brilliant in it. I have plans to watch "The Hunt" even though the premise pisses me off.

He knew it was his life's work and one of the last things he would do. And he had adrenaline pumping. I can buy it.

He is weak, has to eat very carefully, looks jaundiced and pale and pinched and grey by turns, and his personality has some vulnerability and paranoia previously not there.

Yep. He was born the son of a count, filthy rich and waited on hand and foot for the formative years of his childhood, per the books.

From the books, we get a sense of an oddness, a separateness about him, even before trauma touches him.

He was born rich. He was filthy rich and had a wait staff, personal tutor, cook, groom, full staff for the formative years of his childhood and then again later in life. Inheritance.

Yes! I, too was reminded of "Let the Right One In".

It was because of the tranquilizer dart whose effects were still in his blood, marring his speech.

I don't know. I can't see him killing (heh) at beer pong.

It was perhaps intentional, since this episode showed Hannibal at his most vulnerable. It's a lot better than most other shows that have swimming scenes, but yes, his stroke (and the Murder Orderly's) left something to be desired. But they had flip turns (which you frakking never see on tv) so I am pacified.

I can appreciate the reaction. It would seem really shitty of the showrunners and writers to write out/kill off the only woman of color who is a main character, except that this is "Hannibal" where we have no certainty that *any* of the main characters except the titular one will be alive at the end of the show, so I

I believe the books mention he was thought to be quite the lover by a few ladies before he was caught and imprisoned. It was a very limited number, however. Lecter mostly satisfies his lusts with food and murderation.

Bedelia might survive. There are women in the books he sent flowers to once a year even after being imprisoned.

Simple. He is incredibly focused and efficient.

She's probably in the rolodex for a rainy day.

There's probably already a montage like this on Tumblr.

Yes. I refuse to see Bodyworks even though I think it would be fascinating because it's pretty much guaranteed some-to-all of the bodies are from political prisoners who were protecting their families by not giving names and thus were marked 'unclaimed'. I'd totally donate my body (once I am deceased) to something

There were also large Angel wings in the tile/stone behind either shoulder. He looked like a crucified fallen angel.

Hah! Right? As a former Varsity swimmer I was a little critical of the stroke technique but I NEVER see people do flip-turns on television when they're swimming. I actually clapped. That was a first.
