The side profile is hideous...a beluga nose combined with the square-ish rear deck just doesn't look right. The side door detailing makes it even worse... Hard to argue with the mechanical bits though.

The midsize sedan segment may be the biggest seller in America, but visually speaking, it's probably also the most boring. The Ford Fusion and Mazda6 are the only truly good-looking cars in that group. The old Sonata is noticeable but garish.

Agreed. My thinking is that since these brands a not restricted by any ethos, pedigree or marketing angle, they can explore new technologies and methods that the more established brands won't or cannot. For example, Pagani's Carbo-tanium or Koenigsegg's Triplex suspension.
