Srsly. I can’t remember if it was in this post or the other story that Jez did on this that described them as supermodels without any hint of irony, but what. the. fuck. Linda Fucking Evangelista is a supermodel. Not Kendall Jenner.

I want to live a life where spending $1,200 for a weekend is like a great deal.
“...Kendall Jenner promoting it”
Here’s the best part. Actual communication from the promoters today:
The “group of girls” comment is because the subject of this very article is - hold on to your butt - is a group of girls. Take a breather.
These people need to file fraud claims with their banks - fuck trusting “companies” to refund you. I’m sure the vast majority of them paid on credit cards.
The worst case of victim blaming you’ve ever seen? The worst?
Why would this child put $500 on the wrist band for “daily expenses” after purchasing what was purported to be as an all inclusive experience? She is trying to set herself apart from the oblivious “rich kids” but her lack of critical thinking skills belies that assertion.
Not only did they not supply “luxury,” they didn’t provide the bare minimum of living standards, like clean toilets, food, or drinkable water. It takes a LOT of experience to pull something like this off; it could’ve been awesome. But a whole lot of people dropped the ball.
Ok. You keep implying that the comments here are somehow particularly shameful coming from Jezzies because of your unsupportable premise that the CEO’s blatantly irresponsible and unsavory practices were targeted more specifically or dangerously at women. I’ll keep thinking that that’s a pretty fucking rich argument…
Not really. You’ve made the gender point in more than one reply on this thread, and if you’re “judging from those reddit posts” solely by looking at headers in a gif and have had absolutely no other exposure to the variety of accounts and types of attendees receiving vast exposure today, then I have no problem…
I’m confused as to how you can be *both* “judging by those reddit posts” and suggesting that attention isn’t focusing on rich white male attendees (who are authoring the vast majority of the reddit posts purporting to be from the island).
This may also be the first and last time anyone has ever referenced her in the same sentence as the words “academic” or “career”.
Stuff like this makes me hate my generation. All it took were a couple of instagram models to get you to drop $1200???
At one point, I was really nervous and thought the only way I could feasibly get in contact was to show up at their address. But we weren’t super concerned. We thought, okay, it’s the first year, we understand things might seem not as together.
I’m dying laughing at all of this. One, I’ve never heard of this Frye Festival until today. Two, I can’t believe people forked over thousands of dollars even after realizing Ja-Rule, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid were involved in this. All it takes is one C-list has been rapper and two Instagram models to get people…
They thought, All we have to do is promote it with supermodels, get a couple headliners and promise some luxury Instagrammable experience.
My favorite was where someone seemed to be trying to clarify things by inserting words in [] brackets, and it still barely made any sense.
I mean this in the kindest way; the writer could be one of the less self-aware people I’ve read. I suspect she may have skipped grammar and logic in her academic career.
