I actually don’t think baseball moves things up. Remember baseball playoffs have very few off days, so even in the unlikely event of two LCS sweeps, teams aren’t sitting all that long. Just a couple extra days.

Unai Emery of Sevilla

“IMS chairman Mari Hulman George has been ordering Indy 500 drivers to “start your engines” for longer than most of us have been alive.” Actually only since 1997. Before that it was her mother who was in her 90s before she stopped.

This monologue didn’t make me laugh, but it did make me smile. I haven’t watched him for a long time, but he was huge for me growing up in the 80s.

You may want to tap the brakes on the whole "martial law" narrative.

Ever watch college basketball? NBA refs are so much better.

Ref doesn’t have to grant it.

“well then how come you’re allowed to not eat gross things and I’m not”.

I agree with this. I think if the Packers draft Sanders, they probably become what the Lions became. A mediocre to above-average team that didn’t do much. Mandarich was the beginning of the end of the old ways of doing things. Eventually it ushered in Ron Wolf and everything changed. I argue that the Mandarich pick

Is it the same reason they always show the pop up add with the guy with the creepy hair?

Serious question. Can UEFA just pull out of FIFA? That is where all the money is, and I could see countries like the US wanting to join them in some new confederation.

You guys do understand that Epstein can’t come out and say “well we kept him down there because we wanted another year of control” right? Epstein knows the game. Boras knows the game. This is how it is played.

Hockey fans are so insufferable sometimes. Most people don't pay attention until the playoffs. Just like the NBA and college basketball, but you don't see their fans bitching and moaning about it.

Get rid of it entirely. The two point conversion gets you one extra point, but if you fail it costs you one. It is just an unnecessary play.

Its probably best that they are in Europe. There are other Asian countries in UEFA as well. Kazakhstan for instance.

I never claimed to "speak for Chicago." I said "most Cub fans I know are absolutely fine with this project," and I know A LOT of Cub fans.

Hyperbole is ALWAYS very effective.

Actually once it is done it will be very nice. It won't be very nice this year though. And of course, you do the Deadspin thing by labeling them "douche-bros" and acting all SHOCKED that owners are trying to increase revenue. Believe me, most Cub fans I know are absolutely fine with this project - that it is time

"Arguably unnecessary ?" Hardly. The place is old and doesn't generate near the revenue that the Cubs should. At least they are attempting to preserve Wrigley, while generating new sources of income, like the Red Sox, instead of leaving for a more lucrative deal in the north suburbs.

He's apologizing. He's not going to be suspended unless it continues to blow up. For better or worse, their show moves the needle.
