THEY BETTER NOT
THEY BETTER NOT
i mean, i won't say i implicitly trust the writers. i don't think the end of this episode, where caitlin finds progress in being around the people who love her after isolation and trauma, is "wrapped up in a bow", exactly, but i also won't be surprised if episodes going forward treat it that way.
I'M SO GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE! i just can't believe him as the big bad. let tom cavanagh teach him how to be evil, somebody, please
painful? you mean classic superhero shenanigans!
she did say "no" to being asked if she was ok. which is how it works! just because you're not ok doesn't mean you can't take steps forward, and finding ways to feel "normal"—whatever that means to you—is one of those steps.
"oh, great, you guys again." carlos valdes never stops delivering, even in moments of crisis. that "please tell me i did not just see the end of the world" line a few moments later was a difficult, corny line that he still managed to pull off. WHAT A STAR
i haven't finished watching yet so i haven't actually read the review to avoid spoiling myself but i just want to say that the whole exchange between wally and joe where wally says with a breaking voice that he wants to prove he was worth being saved—and then doubting joe's reassurance that he always is—literally…
within the context of the show and its strange relationship to history, i agree, i can perfectly imagine this script. within the context of reality this would be 9/11 taken to an entirely new level. memorials. speeches. more military funding. more propaganda. an excuse to invade yet another country and then sit on it…
his husband didn't see curtis's crossed fingers behind his back. (i can't even remember if that's a real detail or not but if it isn't then it was there in spirit)
i'm sure the show will address havenrock later but as a problem specific to felicity's conscience and not, say, a global issue wherein a russian nuke is fired by a third party and kills tens of thousands of citizens of one of the most militaristic countries in the 21st century
WHERE WAS CURTIS, PERIOD??
i'm also frustrated by this nonsense BUT at least it gave us iris whisper-yelling "i gave you that mug!" at joe
hmm… that's an interesting point, it's just frustrating to see him constantly get shoved into another room because the writers aren't ready to have him around yet, but already have him there. i hope the writers deliver on his kid flash origins!
anyway cool wally gets sidelined yet again. writers PLEASE FUCKING DO SOMETHING WITH THIS KID stop sending him to his room if you're going to keep him on! let's go! season's almost over!
why is carlos valdes LITERALLY the best actor on this show? which isn't a slam on any of the other actors, because so many of them are so good, but "a zombie? for real?" had me rolling JUST for how he delivered it. he's a comedic genius and i want to see him get more roles.
well. lazy writing is as lazy writing does, and a large ensemble cast doesn't help. i will also say—large ensemble casts don't lend themselves to standard length seasons like these, as was made clear in the difference between avatar: the last airbender and the legend of korra. it's easy for everyone to get lost, and…
"the show remains too convoluted and too overwhelmed by its own tangled plot threads for the latest big twists to register as they should." *climbs onto a rooftop* AMEN! AMEN!! AMEN!!!!!
LoT is the SVU of character development
wally is an underserved character with lots of potential. i'm hoping this new turn will really help see him as developed as at least cisco, if not full barry levels of development. and honestly, i don't… find him boring? i find him really intriguing and i can't wait to see how he handles this new time in his life.…
personally i feel jessie is going to use her speed to…. leave. but i think it'll be fun to see wally as kid flash, considering the writers have done a pretty good job of building that heroic desire. (it could always be improved, but that can be said of everything.) double the coronary for joe!
