Wow this was a BAD episode - let alone a series finale. I don't even understand what was going on in France. Who the hell is Margot? Is the witch pregnant with the devil or something. Why are these things taking up space in the finale??
I would have liked someone else than afterlife-Mary to have a happy ending - Claude

Claude's constancy to Leith is the only thing on the show that's going on for TOO LONG.

I agree. Mary has only had chemistry with a few select. Darnley is being kept interesting somehow - it might be Will Kemp's excellent childish-but-truthful vibe. Bothwell lost all appeal after his sudden declaration of love, omg never thought someone who looks like that could be so boring.

Bahahaha, that's a PERFECT epitaph for Gideon.

Yes, oddly I also feel like Darnley is the most genuine thing on the show - along with Narcisse whose sudden gearshift still manages to ring true just because Craig Parker can OTT like a master.

This episode wasn't great - but isn't Claude gorgeous?!

That makes sense.
It's funny though how Mary and Elizabeth are trading some characteristics this season. Before there was a clear division: Mary is happier and more relatable because she lets her heart decide. Elizabeth is pitiable because she is calculating and therefore lonely.
Now Mary is headed for her downfall

It would give a "quick fix" reason for Elizabeth not marrying, seeing as Reign is in such a hurry all the time.
You mean Mary looks bad for her dependence on men?

Yes, Darnley is kind of endearing - all his little-boy pouty faces when someone critisises him, aw. The actor playing him may be too old for the part, but he's definitely got a (very) young vibe!

Right on. This seems like a case of giving up integrity for CW-ness.

Was I the only one who thought Elizabeth and Gideon's sudden hook up didn't ring true? I liked them as friends.

Very funny recap: ''… he wrote the “sea glass” bit himself and assured Rizzio repeatedly how important it was.'' Haha. But actually, I thought that was very sweet - he does have eyes like sea glass tbh. :)

LOL

It's something ;)

Good, affecting episode! Never thought much of Rachel Skarsten's acting skills, but she was very touching in this.
Also, Bothwell - they're sure good at finding attractive guys for Reign. 😅

I bet James won't make those lovely apple tarts for you.

I agree with everyone: THIS was a great episode. The best of the season so far. Thrilling and totally romantic, in an Arthurian legend sort of way.

My favourite moment was when Narcisse was impressed with Leith - never thought that would happen, lol. It was like a dragon taking a bow to a puppy. Well Greer, getcha to France and live cushily ever after with Leith!

Haha, yes! Greer and Leith - I had given up hope, thanks for the thought!
And totally agree that it was a BIG surprise that Luc is actually nice. His exchange with Narcisse: "Pretend to be a good person." "I AM a good person!" reminded me of Catherine and Claude when the hanged guy fell down - "I AM shocked!" Probably

Agatha, aka Beautiful Enchantress, is played by Dan Steven's love interest in Sense & Sensibility. This adds odd subtext to her wrath. 😂
