i know nothing about this & have nothing to offer other than i like the big picture of the kitty!

I just want to make sure if you are held up because of this consideration, after liking the previous outing, yes, this movie is really gross...not greasy strangler gross but as close as can see a multiplex or IMAX.  Keepin it real

People are acting like it was no big deal because, as you yourself said elsewhere in response to me, process servers serve papers in public all the time. The only unique aspect of this event is the weird parasocial relationship some people have with one or both of the parties involved, but as far as divorce

so many dudes in here are acting like this was no big deal and assuming she probably brought it on herself without any evidence.

a woman being publicly humiliated by her male ex

Okay man. You are committed to blaming Jason Sudeikis for the actions of someone he had no idea even existed, even though you haven’t even the slightest hint of a clue about and zero practical experience with what is involved in this process. Go for it, my dude. I, as a woman, very much appreciate your mansplaining

The only way to win against recognitions is to never engage him at all.

OMG, stop stalking me!!!!

Only because you suck at providing receipts for your bullshit.

No, of course not, but first of all, no client comes in saying “I want so and so served with papers.” As I said, most people have no idea what “serve” means or what is involved. They’d say I want to divorce my wife, or I want sue this business, or I want to accomplish XYZ. How the goal is accomplished is handled by

I see you’ve upgraded from stretching the truth to straight up lying.

Very incorrect. It is usually a a lawyer to lawyer thing. If a PS is involved either the lawyer or the involved party is ducking being served.

Okay, I’m not going to argue over whether she was embarrassed. If she says she was embarrassed she was embarrassed, that’s fine, but even granting that, you, Hughes, Jezebel, et al., still accused Sudeikis of causing it, and even causing it on purpose, without any evidence whatsoever. And it is simply based on a

my mom use to serve people as a side gig. yep. they do whatever it takes to get the person to take the papers. and Sudeikis would have zero involvement.

Her male ex did not humiliate her, the process server did. There is a very real difference. Details matter.

Accepting that this was a humiliating thing to have happened, the responsible party here would have been the process server. Her ex had nothing to do with the method in which the papers were served, and serving legal papers through a third party during a divorce is a perfectly reasonable and common part of the process.

He didn’t say anything at all.  There’s no reason a client would ever know who the process server was, let alone have reason to speak to them.  Most clients have no idea what is even involved in service of process.

Why does the fact she is a woman matter for this one exactly?   She got served legal papers. Happens to many people. Usually at their homes but celebs have this habit of dodging those people so sometimes they have to get tricky to get those papers to them.  It was hardily “humiliation”

I’ve been calling out these shoddy writers for years and have been perma-grey’d as a result; so congratulations and thank you for bringing the criticism that so many of these kinja “journalists” deserve.

AV Club recently wrote “Cop Out, a long-gestating project that used to litter the pages of fan-focused gossip blogs, like Ain’t It Cool News.”
