Yep, this is just basic economics I wish more people would practice. Budget your total financed before you even walk into the dealer. Figure total cost of ownership for the cars you’re looking at (insurance may be a hidden gotcha). Walk out if the dealer can’t make it work within the numbers you set before you started…

My friend had a 2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang and the acceleration scared the piss out of him.  He got rid of it after a few trips to Cars and Coffee Atlanta.
