One of my cousins is a retired USMC Lt. Colonel chopper pilot. In retirement, he hired out as a consultant to deliberately attempt to thwart TSA by carrying a firearm (obviously, he was indemnified against prosecution). He told me he was repeatedly able to do so, until one TSA agent got suspicious because he came

Makes me worry that the new Bronco, which could pretty much ‘save’ Ford, will be very late in coming (yeah, I’m thinking about pulling the trigger).

Well said, Dude.

re: “... AutoPilot features in aircraft still require the pilot to be in control, it mostly just holds airspeed and altitude during long stretches.”

Getting Robert Stack to voice that character was pure genius (but we already know Mike Judge is a genius).

It hurts a little more when you remember Japanese quality came about— partially, and also due to the Japanese’ fastidious culture--from ideas proffered by an American, who couldn’t get anyone to listen in his home country:

That you, PMD?

‘Perverse joy?’ You sir, want a vehicle without those sissy synchronizers!

You forgot Tremec!  How could you?!

I hear ya’. I’m on my second Bullitt; first was an ‘08 and now a ‘19. Part of the appeal is they ONLY come with a manual; Ford knows their target driver (I don’t give a crap about the movie).  And no rev hang.

re: “Let’s be honest, it’s not that hard to learn, anyway.”

You know what’s super-duper-pooper cool? A manual shift lever with a switch for the electric overdrive on the ‘knob:’

Uh, you DO know you can just ignore the ‘empty promises,’ right?

Similar, but not exactly the same. I think the MG 6-cyl had 4 main bearings, instead of the 3 in the 3000's engine. Found this:

Blend Wall-E and Idiocracy to see our (near) future.

Ford (supposedly) has a hybrid F-150 coming out ‘soon.’

Well, Tulsa did give us JJ Cale and the ‘Tulsa Sound.’

I’d turn that into an RV and do cross-country trips without touching the wheel (or pedals) nearly as much carefully monitor the sensors and computer driving the car until I become complacent driving across Nevada and fail to intervene when the computer decides to drive off a cliff or into oncoming traffic or a road

re: “The problem with that is that it means a possible WWIII, and this may or may not be a ground war.”
