Chrysler sprung for TV commercials to piss on the Bronco reveal, so they better damn well do SOMETHING.

Watching the NatGeo “America’s National Parks” for the Bronco reveal; sure enough, Jeep teases a ‘Rubicon 392 Concept.’
re: “... Ford may be sitting on an unexpected sales hit”
Hotcakes will be selling like Broncos.
Maybe if the videos were 3.02 minutes.
Just caught the Jimmy Chin/Brooke Rabatou(sp?) reveal on ESPN. Low-key, emphasis on the sport (climbing), tasteful. Well-done Ford and ad agency.
Demand will probably be insane, but if the engines come from Mexico Ford won’t be able to meet the demand. Ford just can’t catch a break.
re: ‘“Academy Award-winning director and acclaimed cinematographer, photographer, and professional climber Jimmy Chin will spotlight the all-new Bronco 2-door model during National Parks: Yosemite.” I’m told that runs at 8 p.m. eastern also, on the National Geographic channel.”
New trim package, with stripes and lots of plastic cladding.
The fellas over at at Jeep:
Keep sworking (swearing and working)!
re: “For my last story I got to drive a mint condition 1979 Mazda RX-7"
Wholesale prices are up 5%, but companies can’t raise retail prices because too many people are flat broke; what’s a spreadsheet-driven CEO to do???!!
re: “if you have a million dollar of cash in a bank, you’re stupid”
I can do that in my Mustang in first; it’ll idle down to 300-400RPM.
re: “What is Area 51?”
Not all dealerships are bad. When I bought my Bullitt, it was a handshake deal, they didn’t try to upsell me or talk me into an extended warranty--Ford has since offered one--and the finance guy took my personal check without even asking for an ID. A very pleasant process all told.
Funny, I thought just today it’d be cool to have a black Explorer with a ski rack (and maybe a push bar in front). Everyone slows down and gets out of your way (until they realize they’ve been had).
re: “So what are people that excited about - is it purely aesthetics? Is the interior that much better?”
Mustang owners rave about the A10; I think it was co-designed with GM. The MT-82 in my Bullitt, not so much.
