The real reason: Americans are fine with cheap, disposable junk from Walmart, but don’t want to drop $20-30K on a disposable car.

No, but I don’t hate them either. I DO hate the fact they take up exactly 123% of your average parking slot (I get it, developers, parking lots aren’t directly revenue-enhacing). So, two trucks take up 3+ parking spots, when there’s often a shortage of them anyway.

As a (lapsed) Commercial Pilot I mostly agree. I was convinced a speedometer was superior to a digital speed readout—in autos, I never flew in a modern, integrated digital cockpit—but in my Mustang I only check the digital speed. The CHP will largely let 64MPH in a 55 zone slide, but 65 will get their attention.

The stock market has become a casino, and TSLA is a craps shooter with a hot hand. That, and I think the float for TSLA is relatively small compared to the majors.

My ‘96 Ranger extended cab—having a bulkhead just behind my head ruled-out a standard body—still looks good (and drives well at 115K miles w/ 4L ‘Cologne’ V6). Sold it to my dad for $5K—high KBB—in ‘08 when I bought my first Bullitt; bet I could get almost that today. Yeah, the 4L is a pig; I sometimes wish I’d got

I think GM is (gradually) trying to get away from the square wheelwells/circular wheels hole it’s dug itself into. For some people, it’s hard to admit a mistake.

Looks like it’s up for auction; get out your checkbook!

Not to mention many healthcare professionals (possibly) seeking a new line of work.

I just sold my late father’s ‘55 T-Bird to my BFF, after selling his ‘65 Mustang convertible a couple months ago. To my surprise, after driving both quite a bit to work out some pre-sale problems I decided the ‘Bird was much more fun to drive, even though the Mustang had power steering—early Ford PS was way

When my dad still did all his own farming he had a machine called an ‘Aerofan’ (they’re still made). His old, used one was basically a large cylindrical tank on two wheels with an engine—in his case a Ford flathead—which drove a high pressure fluid pump and a large, turbofan-like, well, fan, which would blow

I always wondered why he had such a goofy little ‘stache; according to a TV quasi-documentary I saw he supposedly had a typical, handlebar ‘stache until he couldn’t get his mask sealed in a gas attack (it’s known he was gassed a few times). After that, he trimmed it back.
