Of course, with BG3 talking up avenues of choice - for good or ill - there’s absolutely a chance that you can choose to help her succeed and that be not at your expense, but rather to your benefit.

It involves several stuffed animals, I’ll say that much...
I just wrote an article on this for REI-Ink and pushed a podcast on it about a month ago. The typical piece to beware of is around why they are renting so low. If they claim to be goign on a mission trip and want a “godly” person to rent their house as a blessing, super red flag. If they want someone who is as neat as…
I think this is a part of treating employees well, and bodes well for the project as a whole. But if they’re not treating people well, we probably wont hear about it until a few years from now, and if they are we likely never will.
also apparently terrycloth style swimsuits...friend of mine got horrendous burns along the edges of her suit from where the terry material acted like a sponge and soaked up her sunscreen
I recall reading back in the day Snake/Eva scene from the end of MGS3 was not a fun time to record so I am glad they got some good coordinators on this and its picking up in the industry.
Nah, chief. You were trying to be critical of the game, highlighting what you thought might not be a good sign, and got caught in a bad take observation. Now you’re trying to back up and pull the “It was a joke” card.
Movies will hire an intimacy coordinator for one love scene. It’s really not about the amount of such scenes, nor about being cost effective, it’s about making sure the performers are comfortable when performing any scenes like that, whether it’s one or a dozen.
Then you’ve been paying fuck all attention. There’s been plenty of news about other systems and aspects of development. If you’ve only perked your ears up because someone mentioned titillating content, that’s a you problem.
I’d quite surprised if there were many, if any, NSFW games that also used mo-cap that was specific to their game. Or mo-cap at all.
I mean, physically awkward because of the suits...probably? But the whole point of intimacy coordinators is to help ensure it’s not awkward.
Good to read. The more that intimacy coords are utilized the more normalized they become. Maybe eventually we won't have to read inane pushback from would-be sex pests or their unintentional enablers.
Hiring an intimacy coordinator shows they at least had enough concern for performers to ensure they were comfortable.
who knows about pay, but regarding treatment, signs look good. the long development time was probably specifically done to avoid crunch and give developers the time they needed. The rest of the gaming industry insisting BG3 is a anomaly and dont want to be held to the same standards is also a pretty promising sign.…
Oh to be a fly on the wall during those interviews. How does one prepare for a career in ‘intimacy coordination’?
Theoretically they could, but they’d get more accurate mocap data to work with for scenes with two individuals.
I mean, the benefit of mocap is having less to hand animate, and having actors record separately would then require those animations to be matched up, and likely changed significantly to avoid clipping etc. Could it be done separately? Sure, but it would defeat the purpose of mocapping it at all, I imagine.
I don’t know about this. I really doubt intimacy coordinators can really stop a bear from doing what it wants if it decides to go off script.
What they don’t mention is the intimacy coordinator was also extremely helpful in making the bear wearing a motion capture suit feel comfortable on set.
This is super awesome! Glad to see it in video game form, probably made everything move a lot more smoothly
