I’m a guy and I’ve always just assumed that something like this was necessary to keep this kind of clothing from falling out of place. TIL, I guess.

I know a guy who orders pizza without any sauce at all. I just don’t get the point.

I’ve had a bit of an issue with this in the last day-and-a-half. I’m running Windows 10 Pro so, I’m actually able to use the Group Policy Editor to completely kill Defender. I have Avira installed and running but, Defender kept turning itself back on.

The problem there is that Microsoft ends up taking the blame in quite a bit of the IT press when millions of Windows machines end up becoming part of botnets. They really can’t win.

Yup, that extension should be .reg not .bat.

I’ve seen 1.5-foot and 3-foot cables at Monoprice. Their shipping charges can be a bit high though.

When I was a teenager, a friend of mine decided to reheat pancakes in my family’s microwave while visiting. Somehow, they caught fire. That was about 15 years ago now and we still give him crap about it.

I imagine that it’s similar to what I remember from when I first started wearing glasses when I was 7. “You mean everyone was able to tell leaves apart and doesn’t have to sit a foot away from the TV just to see details?” I’m just waiting to see if the price continues to fall since, as you said, my health insurance

It’s confusing but no, the Solitaire Collection still costs $0.00. It is, however, ad supported.

Seeing as Hayes decided to stick around at the scene after the shooting, either he just really wanted Smith dead, something was very wrong with him, or he made a huge mistake and wanted to be taken away.

My main issue was an immersion related problem. I’m willing to suspend disbelief and say that they managed to come up with armor that can withstand thermonuclear blasts but, if you had the technology to create the insanely powerful reactors these Objects require, why wouldn’t you use the output to power a cyclotron

Also, in the world of the series, Western Russia is part of the Legitimate Kingdom so a Soviet/Russian naming scheme wouldn’t be beyond reason.

According to the show, it’s not so much a special material but a new manufacturing process and many meters of it. Also, the original Objects were taken down with thermonuclear weapons it just took quite a few of them to ablate enough armor to stop them.

Unless you were desperate, then you may be sending “Call 911 if I don’t contact you in the morning.”

Well, don’t forget that these are only the top ten causes of death in these age groups for the year 2014. Also, some of those unintentional falls or unintentional poisonings could just be undetected murders....

Some states have gotten ahead of the ball about making those results not- applicable for life insurance eligibility (the ACA already handles pre-existing conditions for health insurance, you can’t be denied coverage for them) but, yeah either look into it or buy insurance first.

I’m guessing that the second ‘B’ stands for banana. I don’t eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches but I know that many people enjoy them.

Yeah, NiMH batteries are stuck at 1.2V while alkaline ones are at 1.5V. As BobbingForOnions noted in his comment, that’s just how the physics of the materials that generate the electricity work. I guess the manufacturers decided that rechargeability was worth 0.3 volts per cell.

I saw this poster last weekend in a team’s pit at a robotics competition I volunteered at. It caused a bit of inappropriate laughter on my part ^_^

My mom still brings up the Atari 2600 she had before one of her brothers friends (allegedly, there’s no proof after all) stole it. This was the early 80's so a few years before I was born. I’m tempted to try to find one for her birthday this year.
