I think The Writer’s implication that you can determine three dimensional information from a two dimensional shadow is incorrect. The art installation shown is interesting in beautiful but I’d be surprised if the artist didn’t admit that it relied on optical illusion based on the way the brain interprets information…
I suppose if It was published in nature it had to pass peer review but this writer’s attempt to make it something understandable actually makes it sound like gobbledygook. I’ve got a fairly decent Tim Allen Style understanding of physics and I can’t come close to figuring out what the hell he’s talking about.
