Jesse was on board because he thought he was going to get his 5 million just like Mike did. I think the implication throughout is that Walt does have the 5 million to give to Jesse available on hand - if he didn't he'd have said so, as one of his many gambits to keep Jesse in the game. Even when he said he'd give

@GlennGinn : I'm not Walt. Walt is Walt. And Walt has always been reckless, and he's always liked to flash his money. He's been pushing it to the next level this season, but then he killed Gus Fring. I'd be hubristic too.

True; Kaylee won't be an orphan (…although we never see her parents and every time we see Mike off the job he's with her so who knows what her deal is, but he doesn't seem to be her primary caretaker). They're very different situations once you scratch the surface. But the surface parallel might still be interesting

Um… brazenly sporting muscle cars isn't a change he did on a dime, he's always wanted a flashy car, it's only Skyler who reigned him in last time he bought one.

@—- : I never said he did, I said he assaulted her. And that is, in fact, "close to" rape. His reasons and his mindset at the time are completely irrelevant to that point - I'm sure if he did rape someone it would be perfectly reasonable in the context of his mindset at the time too.

I don't think Jesse has any reason to try and take down Walt right now, short of him finding out about Brock and Jane as you say, why ?

LOL. Good luck with that…
But well-spotted.

Well, there's her children who'll find out their parents are drug dealers (and for some reason her children's opinion of Walt still seems to matter to her, see the wife-beating conversation a few episodes ago) and who will end up kicked out of the house and penniless once the IRS is done with them, and there's her

Personally I think he took it "just in case" and wasn't specifically intending to kill Mike. But it was probably one of the Options he had going through his mind while on the drive to see Mike. (is there a supercut somewhere of Walt making his "as I see it we have X options. Option one : …" speeches ? Because I've

I agree. But I think it's easy to explain why people react this way - ultimately we don't judge people on whether they do Good Things or Bad Things, but on how they interact with others. Mike has killed tons of people but most of them were faceless mooks, and when he hasn't been killing people or threatening to kill
