I used to have a early am job and this was no problem for me. Later, I got a different job that started later in the day and got used to sleeping in. I then attempted the 30 min trick but found myself turning the alarm off and going back to sleep.

Beyond that, the state exams are WAY to easy. I could pass the written test without actually knowing laws but just watching what normally happens on the road. THAT is scary.

Oh I know [conspiracy blah blah blah]... but seriously, living in a city that is frequently visited by out of town-ers (who tend to cause lots of accidents), I see why the education and enforcement is not a "big issue".
