Rustproofing? What dealer even still offers that?

Might not want to go to VWs museum in Germany then. They have examples of many of the wartime vehicles they manufactured includinf a Type 87 w/rollers, a Kubelwagen, a schwimmwagen, and two of the 1938 prototypes, one of which was the one a certain dictator rode in at the cornerstone ceremony in 1938.

That’s a reproduction. The giveaway is the larger front windshield. That car is most likely a 1965-67 Beetle.

Ok, ok, I know it's a 1993. But the car was Loyale was born in 1980s and didn't change all that much. But where are you going to find one this nice, with AWD AND a manual trans?

I don't think quite as many people look at a random Dodge Charger or GMC Van and say there's the General Lee or the A-team van when ever they see one. Go to any car show or cruise and there will be at least a handful of people that say "Look! It's Herbie" . The car doesn't even have to be painted like Herbie.

It's funny people keep saying "restore the car to how it was on the set" this car is how it was on set for the most part. A few perishable items have been replaced. Like one of the 53 decals (the original it replaces was really unsalvageable). And the tires. Why does that not make it any more original? They're the

That's connected to brackets under the hood that allows it to be opened.

I've driven this car. It's a trip to drive with the secondary controls. Messes with your perception.

What a waste of a perfectly good Cherokee.

If President Obama has anything to say about it, a Tesla. But we all know that would never ever happen. It's kind of a tough call car wise cause who in the U.S. makes a flagship big sedan? Lincoln and Cadillac really gotta step up their game here. With that being said, perhaps a Chrysler 300 will step to the plate to

Guess it shows that money can't buy style or taste.

One of my favorites is Gearheart Shirts, formerly Gearhead Shirts. They've got some great shirts and make a really quality product. I think I have 5 or 6 shirts from them, and I get tons of compliments on them because they're different and classy. http://gearheartshirts.com/

Throwback to the EMPI Inch Pincher.

I don't know why anyone would want to go out and drive Paul McCartney or John Lennon. Oh wait, you're talking about VW BeEtles. You're comment only shows that you've never actually driven one.

True, only European and other foreign markets got discs. But thankfully, it's an easy swap. I've done it on my 72 Super.

The prices of Beetles are rising significantly. Look at Split and Oval window prices. And as those cars and the other pre 67s dry up, little brother syndrome will kick in and pull the later cars up.

Those come from Australia. They weren't offered here in the U.S. as an accessory. Even in JC Whitney.

I know the car, but not the owner. It's a nice car for the money, and it's a (Super) Beetle, that's already done. I've had two flat windshield Supers (1302) and I personally like them a lot more since they stay true to the Beetle look more so than the later round windshield (1303) cars. As a VW guy who has restored

You basically put in to words every reason WHY I bought one of the last 09 Bullitts. I myself am traditionally a VW guy. But having worked for a Ford dealer, the 05-09 Mustangs when they came out really called to me (I worked there as a manager from 05-through 06). Especially with Motor Trend's review of the 05 stang
