I bought my car very expensive. I went with the 7yr loan for the payments being lower. But I plan to keep the vehicle 20 yrs. so this was a smart move according to the article. LOL
You do realize that standards now are much more difficult then when Honda and Toyota started out. Back then people thought they were just a joke or cute little impractical things. but back then the regulation was much more lax-ed/ nonexistent.

What I gather from this article is that the base models are a good buy regardless. However, of the cars listed I would myself only buy the Kia, Toyota Tacoma, and the Mazada...with all that said I would still not purchase them new. I would wait till they are in the used market.
Something I was told by my father...if you are going to fiance a car, then get the top of the line otherwise if you buying it outright then it is ok to not get the top.
