Same. I’m a little ashamed—and more than a little perturbed—by the feelings of hopefulness positivity that came over me, even for a moment. I thought “holy shit—have I not been wasting EVERY wishbone, lucky star, and birthday wish for the past few years?!”

I really like Sophia Coppola’s movies (that she’s directed, I mean,) but I don’t think any one of them is as good as any one of the four movies her father made between 1972 and 1979 (Godfather 1 and 2, The Conversation, and Apocalypse Now.)

Tendler doesn’t seem to have really gone at Swift, and this does not seem serious otherwise. People need to calm the fuck down.

“An officer was shot by Johnson’s firearm and as a result, the officer ended up shooting Johnson in the head twice.”

She moved into a goddamn van for this guy. He BETTER be ready to get a safe, reversible, out-patient procedure.

If they’re not posting the numbers, and the show isn’t appearing on any list of “most streamed shows” for any given month, quarter, or year... I am naturally going to question whether it’s truly pulled in big numbers.

“A League of Their Own has a number of impressive metrics to its name that would lead you to assume a full renewal would be in Amazon Studios’ best interest. Its Rotten Tomatoes score is 94 percent from critics and 87 percent among audiences. It has also won a number of awards from the well-known (GLAAD, NAACP Image

Holy shit, nothing like a story about Black women excelling through public service to turn the grays into a toxic, racist hellscape. It’s like a fucking klan meeting down here.

I just realized what the confusion might be—in my original comment above, I quoted a portion of the article, rather than the headline. The headline doesn’t mention vaginal sex, or even sex; it just says “first orgasm”.

The fact that a guy with $200 in his checking account felt like he needed to pay for dinner when his date was a multi-millionaire... is what we call “patriarchy.

I don’t think my interpretation has much or anything to do with my not being a women. There are women in these comments who shared my interpretation and understanding of the headline.

“she didn’t orgasm from vaginal sex until she was 38 years old.”

“The people who do matter are all the kids who are seeing a version of their favorite character who looks like them.”

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” basically swept the awards, so we probably shouldn’t read too much into Bassett not getting award.

Not only is RRR an amazing movie top to bottom, but it’s also a movie about people of color (from a place that exists in the real world no less,) fighting against white colonizers. And what's more, RRR is not made by Disney.

What we’re living through right now is a (sometimes annoying) sharp overcorrection following years of women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and all manner of other marginalized people, being treated garbage.

A comedian talked about their failed marriage... how is this remotely extraordinary? Moreover, he didn’t talk shit about his ex-wife, and (apparently) has previously taken responsibility for the enormous, even disproportionate part he played in the failure of his marriage.

so it’s spreading...

I agree with everything you said, and largely echo your feelings about it. Mr. Beast’s antics absolutely have the effect of reminding me, or bringing to my attention, what’s wrong with the distribution (or hoarding) of resources in this world. And Mr. Beast monetizing it feels tacky. But I’m not mad at the guy, and

‘Well, didn’t you make granny a 36-year-old granny?’ I said, ‘Yes, I did.’”
