I have absolutely no issues with organ donation . . . [y]ou are hooking her up for months on end and keeping her body alive and literally giving her body over to a couple who can opt to use it for months on end as they see fit. This could entail using her as a surrogate and having abortions performed on her as they

This is disgusting, but not remotely surprising. The “oh lord, what have we wrought upon the world”-moment was in 2014, when Facebook basically facilitated a genocide... also in Myanmar.

Given the fact that his mother is a famous sex worker, and the reasonable likelihood that he could be bullied about it in school, I can understand why his mother might have wanted to preempt the bullying, misinformation, and shaming.

It seems like you have issues with organ donation and surrogacy, writ large. That’s fine, but, regardless of what those issues might be, the fact is that our society long ago weighed the risks and potential moral hazards against the benefits of both, and organ donation (and to a lesser extent,  surrogacy) basically won

It depends on whether (and to what degree) the author of the article likes or dislikes the respective parties to the relationship.

“In their comatose state, they’ll hardly be able to advocate for themselves. And if they are impregnated while brain-dead, what are their rights, then?”

“[C]hild rape victims who are 12 or younger can get an abortion up to 10 weeks into their pregnancy[.]”

As long as you say you’re sorry, Catholics can do whatever they want!”

Given the mileage that she got out of that, ‘not goodʼ is certainly relative here.”

If I had to bet on a white character being cast as a Black person, I’d say it would be someone in The Authority—Apollo in particular. You want free advertising on Fox News and all other conservative media outlets? Make the sun-god-themed homosexual Superman analogue (who is in a loving committed relationship with the

Given how much of machine learn technology is open source, and the ever increasing power of processors, I also believe this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Men are grossly over represented in the positions and industries that give rise to whitecollar con artists; less women in the space means you’re going to get fewer women scammers in the space. Moreover, the dearth of whitecollar women con artists can probably also be attributed to the fact that if women are subject to

Thank you for pointing this out about Sunny Balwani. I see random public figures issue this take about how Holmes’ case is indicative how society wants to punish women for being ambitious, etc. I mean, I don’t disagree with the overall thesis that women are held to a more stringent, critical standard than their male

I think this is a reasonable assumption. What this man did is fireable and probably actionable (criminally and civily,) but I can understand how the former officers who literally executed Nichols on camera would have been (and will likely remain) the focus of the attention and ire surrounding this case.

How does this story get written without providing a photo of the suspect? I can’t be the only one who immediately wondered “would *I* have bought that this 29-year-old was actually 15?”

“Infinity Pool is not a movie that’s interested in telling you how to think about disrespectful tourists[.]”

People get praised, celebrated, fired, and canceled for their Tweets. It is the de facto platform for the dissemination of news and information, as well as for addressing the public. So, yes, moving forward, a lot quotable statements will originate on Twitter.

I remain skeptical of whether any of this will stick (legally).

Yes, yes, that's all well and good, but, who WAS "the Boss"?

I like the Toy Story movies.
