Was the 9 year sentence outside of the sentencing guidelines/norms of the Russian Federation? Honestly asking.

Do you also think the Holocaust was legal because the laws of the German Reich permitted it? Do you think the Nuremberg trials were unlawful for prosecuting people for following orders that were legal according to the laws of the country and chain of command that issued those orders?

Is it your position that detention cannot be wrongful so long as a law of the detaining jurisdiction has allegedly been broken? Or is a 9-year sentence to a labor camp (a sentence made this harsh for obvious geopolitical motives,) just not far enough outside your sense of propriety for this detention to be wrongful?
