I feel like the City has been after him for this money for a while now—not sure how high the fees and costs are, but it’s probably best to just pay the $130k and buy his peace before the lawyers rack up even higher bills. The last thing this guy needs is to be bankrupted by this.

Fuck anybody who says she isn’t a solid role model for young people. Also, opening an ALF seems like a vastly more constructive way to spend one’s wealth than starting a vodka company or some shit.

“We are the emerging majority,” he said.

“To state the obvious, height can be an extreme source of insecurity for men . . . . We can only hope they watch this interview, and along with tall women who face social ostracism for their heights, find self-love and acceptance.”

In the absence of evidence, or even concrete allegations (rank speculation doesn’t count,) of some conspiracy or shenanigans, I tend to take these sorts of things at face value. In other words: These are people boxing who are famous for non-boxing reasons, but who nevertheless are actually boxing each other. And

I’m not a Jake Paul fan, and these probably aren’t the apex of the sport of boxing—but neither is there any evidence or indication that the fights are scripted, choreographed, or their outcomes predetermined. In other words, it’s absolutely an athletic competition—but I would also stipulate to the fact that the draw

Passed and ultimately enforced. Implicit in every civil judgment is that the entity with a monopoly on force in society (i.e., the government,) will—to the extent made necessary by an intransigent judgment debtor—send people with guns to collect whatever monies. It’s just an exercise of state power with extra steps.

I would only dispute the order of those things—they’re going to continue monkeying with any mechanism that could pose a threat to their electoral fortunes before they go full bore for LGBTQ rights.

Cool. This will add a lot of texture to my alt history day dreams, alongside all those Harry Turtledove books I read in middle school.

Actually, yes.

This is such a waste of tax payers’ money. Smollett is a seemingly self-serious person who has been made a laughingstock. The only work he’s gotten since the incident was in a movie he made himself. No one (except Smollett) was hurt by this absurd incident, unless you make the leap to the taxpayers having been hurt

Man who was Black committed crime and was caught. Is The Root honor-bound to cover every crime in America committed by a Black person?

Write every email as if it will be read back to you during a deposition.

It’s shocking that he would preemptively cast shade on the idea that a new strain may require the development of a new, or at least modified, vaccine. We’re living in a world in which millions have died from this thing, it is an irrefutable fact that vaccines reduces the rate of infection and greatly reduces the

Okay, sure, but no: Trevor Noah is making some people angry because he’s saying that the Moderna CEO is only pushing for new vaccines in face of the Omarion variant for financial reasons and not health reasons. Surely, it’s a little bit of both, but my man, can you not?

You’re absolutely correct; my understanding of the Defense’s legal argument was mistaken. That said, I’m not clear on whether they’re pursuing both this defense and traditional self-defense, because I can’t figure out why they couldn’t do both (as they’re not mutually exclusive theories,) and moreover, I hope they’re

Apathy, neglect, indolence; take your pick. The money is in the ads, and they’ve got plenty of that.

But the problem is not limited to children shooting children. Cases of gun violence perpetrated by or against children may feel especially tragic, but I doubt they comprise a majority of cases.
